We got to Noah's house, which was more than I imagined. A mansion complete with a pool, basketball court, and tennis court. Inside was even more exquisite. I'm talking about Victorian era. A housekeeper opened the door for us, and Noah held my hand, and I let it go.
"We are supposed to be acting out parts." He whispered to me.
"Fine." I grabbed his hand back. "But if you try anything...." I left the threat open because he knew what I would do.
I ignored the part of myself that reminded me that Noah ate me out earlier today.
"I got it."
He led me to a dining room where there was a long table. At the head of the table was his grandfather. On his right was Noah's dad Owen Grant. He was sitting there chatting with Wallace. Across from Owen was Della Grant, Noah's mom. Noah looked more like his mom than his dad. He had her high cheekbones and her smile. Next to his mom was his little brother Harvey Grant. I never met Noah's family while we were dating. I don't know why and I never questioned him to understand why.
When we walked in, they looked up at us. Harvey's eyes lit up when he saw his brother. It was the most adorable thing ever when he jumped off the chair and ran over to Noah. He looked about five or six. Noah let go of my hand and caught him in his arms, and hugged him tightly. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. I also swooned at the sight of Noah with a kid. Nope Nope. None, of that tonight.
"Hey, buddy. How has school been?"
"Good! I loved my teacher. She reads us stories. Today was about a prince saving the princess from the evil dragon."
"How does the story end?"
"The prince kills the dragon and kisses the princess. I didn't like that part. Yuck!"
Noah laughed, "What if the dragon wasn't as evil as everyone made him out to be, and instead, he just wanted to be with the princess."
Harvey gave him the cutest confused look before Noah put him down, and he ran back to his seat. I, on the other hand, knew exactly what he was talking about. Noah looked over at me knowingly. Noah pulled a chair out for me next to his brother, and Noah sat next to me.
"Noah, introduce us to your girlfriend. You've never brought home a girl before." his mom said.
"This is Lena Warren."
Owen perked up. "Warren? As in Henry Warren of Warren Investments?"
"Yeah, he's my dad."
I could practically see the money signs in Owen's eyes. People like him would only want their child with someone they deemed to be in their social class. That's probably why Noah never brought me to meet them when we were dating.
"Ah, you're the girl he adopted."
"Yep."
The door off to the side opened and in rushed a staff with plates of food. They set them in front of us and left. I looked down at my roast and veggies and when everyone else began to eat, so did I.
"Lena, where did you go to school before Caswell?"
I set down my fork. "I went to Faber college online."
"And what made you transfer to Caswell?"
"Caswell is a great school and I wanted to be closer to my dad."
"Hmm." is all he said and started to eat his food.
I don't think he believed me, but he also had no proof. I did go to Faber College online as Lena Warren. He had jack shit on me, but something told me that wouldn't stop him from looking. Tomorrow I was going to have Riley make sure that everything was airtight. The dinner went on smoothly. I found that Della was a little reserved and humble. Owen was chatty and had no problem bragging me about some car or house he had just brought. I was thankful Noah wasn't anything like him.
