As quick as a flash, Nora's arm shoots out towards you. As the SUV skids to a halt, she wraps her arm around your midsection and stops you from smacking straight into the back of the driver's seat as the momentum from the sudden stop throws you all forwards.

She leans across the backseat as she does so, using as much force as she can gather in those few split seconds to hold you back against the seats. Her hand grips at your waist through the bulky padding of your vest and uniform, and keeps a tight hold on you as Tan slams on the breaks and you all watch as the suspect's van flees through the downtown traffic.

Luca swears loudly from the passenger's seat and slams his hands on the dashboard. Hondo's voice crackles over your earpiece and the only recognisable words through the buzz of adrenaline and car horns honking are the words "civilians", "evading", and "lost visual".

With a loud groan, you join your teammates in their frustration and flop your head back against the headrest. You'd be lying if you said it had been a good idea to hop into the SUV without putting in your seatbelt first like Luca had scolded you about, and as the other three start discussing you take a moment to try and will away the stars floating across your vision from the dizziness.

"Hey, hey." Her voice is gentle as she reaches out and shakes your shoulder, watching you blink your eyes slowly open with a concerned expression as the sound of radio chatter and conversation fills the car. "You good?"

"Yeah, I am." You nod, eyes flitting down to where she'd shielded you with her arm. Her hand moved from your shoulder and down to your lap, resting gingerly on your leg as she awaits your words. You look back over to her, lips curving upwards in a smile when you see the faint blush dusting her cheeks and the curls having fallen loose from her helmet. "Thanks to you."

As Tan grumbles irately into the radio and begins to put the car into reverse, Nora's hand remains on your thigh. And as she squeezes your leg with a soft smile, you don't make any move to stop her.
