The Wastaken family consisted of 3 members.

There is the mother, Puffy. God of the seas. She had retired when she reached her 1000th birthday as a god and settled down.
There is the oldest, XD. God of Will. One of the main and most powerful gods on the server.
There is Foolish, the middle child. Spirit and demi-god of immortality. One of the most powerful spirits and demi-gods on the server.
Then there is Dream, the youngest. Spirit of sorrow. One of the weakest in terms of power. He was iften ridiculed by his father. This caused his ability to change.
When Dream was about 13, he had gotten his ability. His ability at this point in time is unknown.
As Dream got older, he started to hate and resent his ability. His father had called it "useless" to the family name because it didn't make them "feared" or "respected" as spirit, demi-god or god's power should be.
This caused Dream to change or "shift" his ability.
Dream sees himself as the weakest person in the family, despite his mother and siblings telling him otherwise.
Dream loves his family will do anything in his power to stop them from getting hurt or frowned upon.
The father himself loves his youngest. He just hates what his youngest is.
Maybe one day he'll come back.
