Human Au
Also, I know this might be worse than most of my other oneshots. I wrote this over the course of a few weeks, and, unlike the other ones, it didn't seem to turn out. Hopefully, you'll all still like it. Thanks.
Please tell me if you catch anything differing from Human Au, incorrect spelling, incorrect grammar, or any small discrepancies. You're all lifesavers!!!
The cramps took over. More than they already had.
I winced, wishing I'd bought Ibuprofen. I didn't buy it, and I regretted it. If I'd done 1 more shift at The Book Witch, it'd sit in my cupboard, but Rosalie just didn't need me for another shift.
If I didn't have pain meds, I needed a distraction.
Who could I talk to?
I would've gone to Keefe, but... that would've been awkward. Right?
It would freak him out, and I'd have to deal with the aftermath later.
I kept on reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Battle of the Labyrinth. Mr. Forkle got the series for my Birthday last year, and, since then, the pages found themselves flipped through over and over again.
My ringtone filled the room. Ugh.
Why would anyone call me right now? Please, let it be not important.
Nope. The world couldn't be nice for once.
Keefe's name rested on the screen.
A video call invite rested above it.
Crap.
I couldn't answer, but I couldn't not answer. But if I did, he'd see me, sitting on my bed, reading, and wincing every few seconds.
Riiiing. Riiiing. Riiiing.
I hit accept. His grinning face fills the screen. "Hey, Foster!" Then he saw. And the smile faded to something weaker. Something with concern. "What's wrong? Are you sick?"
"Sort of."
His eyebrows knit. "What do you mean... sort of?"
"umm, it's... it's nothing."
Worry etched his face. "You-you sure? Should I just come over?"
"You don't have to. Keefe, it's fine. I'm fine."
"Foster. Clearly something's wrong."
I paused. "Just... don't... think I'm weird or be... scared off."
He chuckles. It's quiet, but enough to make me smile. "Foster, why would I ever be scared off? If anything, all my baggage should've scared you off."
A small smile crawls across my face. "Keefe, your... family doesn't scare me off. You dealing with them for so long without..." I paused, trying to find the word. "breaking makes me love you more."
Silence flourished between us.
Throat clearing came through the phone. "So, uh, what's the problem?"
A blush took over my face. "I... uh, it's my period."
Clear worry coated his face (and a deep blush). "Oh, I, I'll be over in half an hour."
The call ended.
Great. I scared him.
He'd be over. No doubt about it.
But it would be very awkward.

A knock hit on my door.
keefe came.
He said he would, and he kept his promises, but some part of me said he wouldn't. That this would be too much for him.
I creaked the door open, and a grin took hold of my face.
Keefe. Freaking. Sencen stood in front of me.
I pulled him into a hug, his bag digging into my side.
Pulling away, a wide grin rested on his face.
"Keefe, you... you didn't have to do this."
He took a step inside and put the bag on the table. "Foster. Of course, I did. you needed me, so I'm here."
A tear fell from me cheek. "Keefe. Thank... thank you. For everything."
He grinned. "It's nothing." His grin faded. "If, uh, you want to be... alone, I can... leave."
He pulled the door open, about to leave. My hand shot to his wrist. "Please. Don't go."
He turned back, eyes wide with emotion. "You... you sure."
"I'm sure."

Hey guys, just wanted to say that, I know. It's (probably) not like usual. I haven't read the series in a while and haven't updated this in a while, but, seriously, I just want to say that for all the people that have read this oneshot book despite it's lack of chapters, THANK YOU so much. It means the world to me and this book is what got me into writing. Since then, I've written a Novella and am working on a Trilogy. They aren't fanfiction, but, when I'm done editing and revisions, I'll post them here (assuming you guys want to read it).
