POV: Keefe
Ringing.
"Hunkyhair, what is that?"
"Uhh, it's my imparter?"
"Your what? Wait--is that your video thing-y?"
"Yep. One sec. It's Biana."
I accept the call.
"Biana?"
She, Foster, Bangs Boy, Linh, Dex, and Marella fill the screen, each from different locations.
"Hey, anyone wanna have a movie night at Everglen tonight?"
Everyone agrees.
I grin, asking, "Is this giong to turn into a sleepover? And can it?"
Foster rolls her eyes. But she isn't mad. She's my girlfriend and has been for the past few months. We can never get mad at each other, no matter how hard we try.
Biana grins. "If everyone's in, I'm happy with a sleepover."
Yes's, no's, maybe's; all at once.
This isn't going anywhere, so I step in. "Okay, let's vote. who wants to have a boring night where we watch a movie and only watch a movie, then go back to our boring lives alone and without knowing the true beauty of a sleepover?"
Tam rolls his eyes. "I'm on that side."
Dex nods. "So am I."
Fitz leans into the frame. "Not really in the mood for all the sleepover games Biana's going to make us play, so I'm with Dex and Tam."
A few months ago, Foster would've agreed with them. But we couldn't explain that to them.
Because we never told them we're dating.
When we started, we figured we wouldn't want to go through the trouble of dealing with Fitz when we told him, so we'd just wait a little while before telling him. Just to make sure we stook. And we did. But it's been months.
Biana's laughter pulls me out of my head. "Sophie? You're really siding with him?"
"Eh. Why not? What's the worse that could happen?"
I laugh. "That's the spirit!"
Biana says, "Sooo, we're having a slumber party?" A series of 'yeps' and groans follow. "'Key. Be at Everglen in an hour! Bye."
The call ends.
Ro asks, "So, is tonight the night? The one you tell everyone?"
"Maybe. I... I don't know. We're been protrastinationg for so long. Won't it be weird if we tell them now?"
"Not as weird as it'll be if you tell them when you propose."
I blush. "I guess. But still. I'd rather later than now."
"That's just because of your little elf-y brain's telling you to 'Avoid the pain!' when what you should be doing is running into the pain with daggers. Talk to your girl and Hope if you need any dagger help. And remember 'she knows better than you'."
"Just because she thinks before doing things doesn't mean she knows any better."
"Yes. It does. Now go get ready for your slumber party."
"Do you have to come with me?"
"Yep. I need to protect you. And see the drama."
***
Biana's standing, waiting for me. "Hey Keefe. You're the first one here."
"What can I say? I love a good slumber party."
