I wake up with a quick rush if adrenaline. I check my phone lying on table in the middle of my living room. It's 3pm, I slept for fourteen hours in my living room in the most uncomfortable position ever. I hear a loud pound on my door. I throw the duvet off of me and slowly get off of the couch. Last night I fell asleep in an oversized Long sleeve shirt no bra underneath, I don't wear any bottoms to bed so I was just in my panties with a messy bun in my hair. As I pass through my kitchen to the door I slyly grab a knife off of my counter. I can feel my heartbeat in my stomach, I hate people knocking on a door loudly it gives me so much stress.
As I make it to my door I open it slowly. Leaving a crack so I can see who it is. I sigh so loudly letting go of breath not knowing I was holding it in. I open the door all the way "Michael fuck man don't scare me like that" I say laughing it off. A small smile forms on his face "sorry. I knocked quietly a few times and I heard no noise in the apartment so I knocked louder." He speaks as he's handing me a small brown paper bag with little handles on it. I take it out of his hands slowly. "What is this?" I question. "Well you said that you were not feeling well so I picked some stuff up for you while I was at the shops earlier today" he say smiling at the bag in my hand.
"Oh my. You know you didn't have to do that" I say smiling at him. I look him in the face noticing he's already making eye contact with me. "Thank you though" not noticing a big smile escaping from my lips. "Umm anyways I should head home to hazel and Alyssa" he says nervously sticking his hands into his Jean pockets. "Yeah yeah sorry. I'll see you tomorrow your house at six still right?" I question to know if that's still the plan. "Yes ma'am six in the bright and early in the morning" confirming that I'm still going to watch Hazel and Alyssa tomorrow. "Thank you for this" I say as I look at the bag still in my hand. "You're welcome" he says with a smirk. Slowly walking down the hall around the corner.
I walk back into my apartment and set the knife down that I forgot I still had in my hand. I also set the bag down, I reach my hand into the bag and take out a chocolate bar, my favorite coffee drink, and my favorite energy drink. I peek back into the bag and see a gift card taped to the bag. I pull it off of the side of the bag and see it's to Barns & Nobles. My favorite place on this entire earth. I look at the price in the back and it's for fifty dollars. My jaw drops and my eyes widen. I never got a present like this before, Michael is probably the greatest friend I've ever had, even if we did meet just for him to use me to watch Hazel and Alyssa. I enjoy his company.
