Chapter 13: The ultimate rivalry

Here we go, the semifinal battle between Ash and Sawyer. Again, this will just be a copy of events from the episodes themselves. But hopefully you guys can still enjoy reading it! Without further ado, here is the 3rd part of the Kalos League! Enjoy!

On the big television screen, the second matchup of the semifinals was found to be Ash vs Sawyer. Both trainers stared at each other with equal interest, anticipating what's expected to be an entertaining battle.

"Well, looks like we've got to get ready now, don't we?" Sawyer asked.

Ash raised a fist, and replied confidently, "Yeah, for sure. This will be a great opportunity to finally decide who is stronger. Time to give everyone a battle they will never forget!"

With that, the gang and Sawyer parted ways for now, to get themselves and their pokemon ready for the full 6-on-6 battle.

Alain and Remo's match went by in a flash. Remo expected to be able to take revenge on him, after his loss the last time round. However, as entertaining as it was, it was one-sided. Only one of Alain's pokemon, Metagross, was knocked out. And it ended as another almost-full clean sweep for Alain, who became the first finalist of the Kalos League.

As Ash and Sawyer trained and prepared themselves, they were fully aware of Alain's battle and sweatdropped. They were shocked by the sheer strength Alain's team had, and thought they needed to be at their best if they wanted to win the league.

After a last-minute training session, Ash gathered all his pokemon for a little pep talk. He sighed, and said, "Look, I am so proud of you guys right now. This is the furthest I've ever been in a league, and I have all of you to thank. Sawyer is a really strong opponent, and we have to give it our all. However, even if we have a difficult task ahead of us, after all that we have been through together, I believe that we can do it. Now, let's have a fun time out there!" Ash's pokemon smiled, and shouted altogether.

Sawyer stood just outside the entrance of the battle arena, looking at all of the notes he had made about Ash and his battle strategies. Ash was someone he looked up to, especially with his passion during every battle, and his capability to form amazing tactics to defeat his pokemon. However, Sawyer also wanted to show Ash how far he has come as well, and seriously hoped to defeat him in this semifinal battle. Sawyer closed his notebook, and smiled. No matter what happened in the battle arena later on, he knew it would be a blast.

Soon enough, Ash and Sawyer's battle was next. Everyone was on the edge of their seats for this match. Even Professor Sycamore and Diantha anticipated this battle, as they wanted to see how a battle between two totally different trainers would progress. Adding on to that, they were fully aware of Ash and Sawyer's rivalry, and that made them look forward to the result even more.

After a little while, Ash and Sawyer could be seen walking out of their respective tunnels and to their platforms. As they did, a forest-like battlefield appeared. The audience erupted into loud cheers at the sight of the two. Shortly after, the referee explained the rules of the battle.

"This will be a full 6-on-6 battle between Ash and Sawyer. As usual, the match will be decided when all 6 pokemon on either side have been knocked out. However, there is a special rule this time. Once half of either challenger's team is knocked out, there will be a brief break for a change in the battlefield. Now then, bring out your pokemon!"

"Hawlucha, I choose you!" "Come on out Slaking!"

Both pokemon appeared in front of their trainers. The referee made sure everything and everyone was ready, and announced.
