Ariá:

"I'm glad you are friends with my son, dear. You see, Leonardo isn't very social." The lady began to say. I kind of got the idea that Leonardo is not social but I still listen to be polite, trying to hold in a laugh since his grimace while the lady ranted.

"Ma, stop. You're embarrassing me."

"Oh be quiet Leonardo. Anyways, Ariá, My name is Rosalié. I'm Leonardo's mother and I own this bakery. What would you like to eat? Anything and everything is on the house for you today." She said with a smile and I felt warm inside.

"Are you sure it's on the house ma'am? I can still pay if you change your mind." I said. Rosalié is way too nice to someone who's probably only said two or three sentences to her son. I wonder if she's this nice with everyone, not that it matters though because concerning my 'relationship' with Leonardo, I'm really just a work colleague. Hell, is there even any relationship to begin with?

"I'm sure dear, don't worry about that. If you're not sure what you'd like, I can suggest some things for you to try?" She said.

"I'd love that, thank you."

"Alright, I'll be right back and if Leonardo bores you let me know." And with that, Rosalié walked off. It remained silent as I had no clue what to say. I was looking at Leonardo's face while he was simply looking around and if I didn't know better, I'd think he was avoiding eye contact.

I took the time to really admire how he looks, my eyes scanning over his face. Black hair in loose, untamed curls framed his face, there being a middle part so that it wouldn't hide his eyes. Those dark brown eyes that took in his surroundings. Thick eyebrows, thin lips and a sharp jawline. He's really handsome.

"So Ariá, about the auction. You don't have to come if you don't want to. I don't want you to feel pressured because I can go by myself, I don't mind really, it might be boring anyways." Leonardo rambled. Cute. He's a fast talker when he's nervous.

"It's okay, really. I signed up for it so I'll stick with it."

"Okay, that's good. Um, you don't have to dress up, sort of. Just wear something semi-formal and I can pick you up at four-thirty in the afternoon since the auction starts at five. It's on Saturday." He rambled, again. How nervous is he?

"No problem. I'll message you my address along with when I'm finished getting ready so you have an idea of when to come." I said with a smile. Leonardo sputtered trying to find something to say and right when it was about to come out his mother came back with her hands full.

"Alright, hope you guys weren't too hungry. I brought back cinnamon rolls and chai!" Rosalié said excitedly. She set down a plate and a cup of tea for me as well as Leonardo and grabbed a chair and sat beside him. I had an amount of four cinnamon rolls on my plate, all in reasonable size. Picking up a roll, I took a bite and it was like a burst of flavour on my tongue. I moaned in satisfaction. It tasted so good.

"It tastes good, doesn't it?" Rosalié inquired. I nodded happily, super pleased with the taste. I could eat these every day.

"You know, Leonardo made them. He was the one that came up with the recipe and it's been the bakery's best seller ever since" She declared. So not only was he an artist but he's a baker? What else can this man do for crying out loud?!

"Ma.." He whined. I looked over at Leonardo and both his ears and cheeks were a bright red. A sign that he was embarrassed. I nearly laughed at how endearing the sight was.

"This tastes really good Leo." I said. He immediately straightened up hearing the nickname and looked around avoiding eye contact once more. He's really really shy.

"Thank you" He mumbled.

I went back to munching on the rolls while taking sips of the tea. The chai tea was good as well. I could taste a little vanilla and nutmeg and I hummed in contentment. Rosalié bent over to whisper something in Leonardo's ears that I couldn't hear. Not that I really cared though. I was too focused on devouring these pastries. The rolls were covered in cream cheese icing and every time I went to take a bite, the little icing mustache I had got messier and messier.

Suddenly, a hand stretched over the table and wiped my face with a small napkin until my icing mustache was gone. I instantly froze, looking up to see Leo concentrated on cleaning my face. The hand disappeared as quickly as it came, Leonardo realizing that reaching to wipe an acquaintance's face out of nowhere is a little strange.

Rosalié slapped his hand scolding him about good manners and proper etiquette saying something along the lines of 'You don't put your hands in people's faces like that Leonardo. Are you okay?' but every noise, everything was a blur when my eyes met his.

"I'm very sorry about Leonardo Ariá, I don't know what's gotten into him." Rosalié apologized profusely. I smiled a little while she kept on apologizing.

"I wasn't offended, it's okay. Thank you for the tea and the cinnamon rolls, they were really good." I said.

"I should go now, it's getting a little late but it was really nice meeting you. Leo, I'll message you tomorrow morning.". I waved goodbye to both Leonardo and his mother and walked out of the bakery.

Today was really eventful.
