As soon as they pulled up to Nicks house, Eddie scrambled out of his car. "Shit man, when I dropped you off a couple days ago I didn't get a good look at your house. I didn't even know there were houses like this in Hawkins. You live here?" Nick didn't make eye contact, but instead just mumbled, "Yeah, my dad's a big shot company guy so he kinda pays for everything. He's almost completely an ass person, but he's my dad so, gotta love him. He's always working, so he might not be home yet. Or at least, not still be awake."
Eddie wrapped a reassuring arm around Nicks shoulders. "Why so nervous Ford?" Nick gave Eddie a weak smile. "I'm more nervous, for you" Eddie blinked, "For me? Why?" Nick let out a thinking sigh. "Nothing, nevermind. Cmon, lets get inside." He then took Eddie by his middle and pointer finger and led him inside. He opened the door to reveal tall ceilings and a grand staircase. Eddies eyes went wide in amazement, "woah" Nick led him up the stairs quickly and almost silently.
Light shuffling came from a nearby area and a high pitched voice called out, "Nicky, honey, is that you?" Nick froze and closed his eyes for a moment, mumbling a light, "damn." before he yelled back, "Yea ma, it's me." The plump woman came from around the corner of a large wall, causing Nick to drop Eddie's hand hastily.
"You sure were late coming in tonight, Nicky. Do you have a new girlfriend? You haven't brought a nice girl for me to meet in so long. What about that Sydney girl? Do you still talk to her?" "Ma" "She was just the sweetest." "Ma." The woman looked up at her son and his long haired friend on the stairs. "Oh dear, you didn't tell me we had company!" Now it was Eddie's turn to freeze. "And it's a girlfriend! With such pretty hair too!" Nicks eyebrows furrowed in embarrassment. "Not a girl, mama." She blinked and gave a semi-nervous smile. "Sorry, hun. Whos this?" Eddie stood stiff as he waved awkwardly. "Hello ma'am, my names Eddie. Uh, Edward." She gave a convincing forced smile. "Nice to meet you, Edward. Nicky, Sydney was very nice. Very pretty too." "Ma." "Your children would look nice." Nick let out a frustrated breath. "Ok, mama. We're leaving." She twisted her thumbs together and put on another convincing fake smile. "You two have fun!" Nick began to walk up the stairs once more, "Thanks, mama." Eddie started to walk with him, but paused to turn to his mom and say, "Nice to meet you. Thank you for having me over ma'am." Nick took Eddie's wrist and led him up the stairs again.
Eddie followed Nick through the maze of hallways until they stopped at a white door. Hanging from the door was a street sign that said, "Baseball Blvd." which caused Eddie to chuckle.
Nick opened the door and motioned for Eddie to go in before he did. Eddie smiled at him, "Thank you, kind sir." Nick laughed back, "Anything for you, your excellency." Eddie's face warmed as he walked in and sat in a beanbag chair next to the bed.
Locking the door behind him, Nick walked in and sat on his bed. "Well, welcome to uh, Baseball Boulevard, Mr. Munson."
