Chapter 12: Baseball Blvd

March 21st, 1986

Eddie laughed at him as he laid back in the beanbag. "Yea, good to be here." Nicks back hit his bed as he fell back, putting his hands behind his head. "Sorry. About my mom." Eddie looked over at Nick, who was staring at the ceiling. "Nah, it's all good, man. Although, 'Ma'?" Nick rolled over to face him, showing an amused smile.

"What's wrong with 'mama'?" Eddie shook his head, causing his curls to bounce lightly. "No, nothing, 'Nicky.'" Nick stared at him momentarily before jumping up and walking over to where Eddie sat. "Ok, that's it. You have this coming." Eddie brought his knees up to his chest and protected his face with his hands, laughing as Nick went after him. "No, no, no! I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Have mercy!" Nick laughed hard as he grabbed Eddie's sides playfully. "No, no, please!" Eddie laughed out, slipping off the beanbag to get away. Nick caught him and pushed him back up by his calves. "Woah, you're super ticklish." Eddie flushed, "God, get off of me, psycho!"

Nick smiled, "No way, this is way too funny." They fell to the floor, rolling in laughter. "No, you're messing up my hair, you dick!" Eddie pushed on him from right under his collar bones. "Nah, I don't think you're hair is messed up. It still looks perfect." Nick replied with a smug smile, burying his hand in the base of his long hair.

"You're so corny. I hate you, get off me!" Nick sat and stared at him, wearing a goofy smile. "Yea I, I hate you too." Nick whispered, messing with the ends of his hair. Eddie stopped pushing and looked up at him, silenced by the intensity of Nick stare. They sat in quiet for a moment before Eddie broke eye contact with red cheeks. "..What? Do I have something on my face?"

Nick leaned into him, red faced and dreamy eyed. "Hey, Eddie?" Eddie's eyes opened a little bit wider, as he studdered out, "Y, yea?" Nick brushed Eddie's hair out of his face with the hand he wasn't holding the back of Eddie's head with.

"Can I kiss you?"
