((The Next Morning))
After waking up, you started making breakfast for you and Yuri.
After that was done, you started to pack her lunch for the day before trying to wake up your daughter.
But when you tried to she decided to wrap herself in a blanket burrito.
You- "Yuri, get up, you have to go to school today."
You say while laughing as you tried to unwrap your daughter.
But she keeps rolling away from you.
Yuri- "Mamaaaaaa, burritos don't go to school."
You chuckled.
You- "Oh darn....That's too bad, I guess I'll just have to tell your teacher that you're not going on the field trip next wee-."
In an instant, your daughter stood up as the blanket fell off her.
Yuri- "-JUST KIDDING!! Its me!!"
You jumped up in shock to play along.
You- "Oh my goddess!! Where has my Yuri been?! I missed you so much!!"
You say as you tickled your daughter's stomach while she tries to wiggle away from you.
Yuri- "HAHAHA!! Mama that tickles!!"
You- "Okay okay."
She then hugs you and you embrace her back.
Yuri- "I missed you mama..."
Your heart sank at your daughter's sudden saddened tone.
You- "I know baby, I'm sorry for leaving you with our neighbor for so long, but mama had to work., but now you have to go to school."
You tried to let go of the embrace, but Yuri embraces you tighter.
Yuri- "I don't wanna go to school..."
You sighed.
You- "I'm sorry baby but you have to."
Yuri- "But what if you leave me again?"
You- "I won't, I plan to stay with you all week after school until you have to go back to our neighbor friday night, okay?"
Yuri pulls back to look at you.
Noticing that Yuri was crying.
Yuri- "Promise?"
The sight broke your heart.
Because you saw someone else in your daughter's eyes.
Someone you've missed so much.
Your daughter's father.
She has his hair and eyes.
So seeing her cry was like seeing him cry.
But he's long gone now, and there's nothing you could do about it.
You shake the thought and lift up your hand up to wipe your daughter's tears with your thumb.
Giving her a kind smile.
You- "I promise Yuri."
You then lift your pinky up.
You- "I promise I'll stay with you until Friday night.....okay?"
Yuri smiles and wraps her little pinky around yours.
Yuri- "Okay Mama, I believe you."
You smile more and go to kiss your daughter's cheek.
