Jess' POV
I slowly open my eyes to find myself tied up in a dark underground room, without any windows. My hands are covered in blood and I feel stickiness on my forehead. I guess that's blood too. Flashbacks of the party come back to me and I start crying when I think about Woo-Bin. He was still so young. He was so smart and bright. He still had to find love and have a family. He didn't live his life to the fullest yet.
"Will you stop crying?! " I look up and see one of Silas' men walking straight to me. "You're lucky the boss needs you alive, or I would've killed you in the most painful way possible." He grabs a knife from a table filled with gear and holds it to my neck. I can feel my skin breaking and blood dripping down my neck. I spit in his face.
"You're lucky I'm tied up, or I would've performed The Spear Of Penance on you."
"Don't be smart with me girl. What the hell is that?"
"Why don't you untie me and find out?" He's about to hit me when a loud 'stop' prevents his hand from connecting with my face. It's Silas. He walks to us and the man with the knife backs off.
"I thought I was clear when I said you couldn't harm her without my permission." Says the man who shot me. He wipes the blood in my neck away with his thumb. "Sorry about Carl's behaviour, Jess. Can I call you Jess?" I say nothing and just keep staring at him with a disgusted face. "What was it that you've been calling me again? Silas? I like it." He bends over so his face is very close to mine." There's something uncle Silas wants from you, Jess. And you're gonna tell me where it is." I bump my head into his as hard as I can. Silas hisses.
"Even if I knew what you're talking about, I would never tell you." He grabs my jaw and squizes my face.
"You will tell me, girl. Whether I'm gonna find out about it the good or the bad way, is up to you." I spit at his feet. "The hard way it is." He grabs a pair of pliers from the table. "Let the fun begin."
Felix' POV:
"Can you stop pacing around the room, sir? You're making it hard for me to work."
"Oh, sorry Frank." I sit down on the chair next to Jake's hospital bed. It's been 21 hours since Jessica has been kidnapped, Jake has been shot and Woo-Bin has died. Frank is busy with trying to find Jessica and Jake just came out of the OR. Woo-Bin's family probably heard the news by now. I feel so bad for them, for everyone. As captain I'm responsible for them, now look at my team: one dead, one kidnapped and one unconcious in the hospital.
"I know what you're thinking sir, but it's not your fault. Nothing you would've done, could have changed this. You did the right thing and prevented Jake from dying as well."
"Thanks Todd, but I still feel horrible. You just lost your captain and now a teammate. A comrade. A brother." I go through my hair with my hands until a hand suddenly rests on my back.
"Why don't you go home and get some rest? Frank and I will stay with Jake."
"But what if he-"
"If something happens to Jake or if Frank finds something, we will call you right away. There's nothing you can do for now. Especially not if you walk around like a zombie due to sleep deprivation."
"He's right sir. And I think I will find Jess sooner without you in the room. No offence." I nod and walk out of the room. They're right: I am of no help if I don't sleep, but I'm afraid that I can't. Or worse: that I have nightmares. Woo-Bin is the first person I've lost and I'm sure that he will turn up in my dreams. And with Jessica kidnapped... I take a deep sigh. I'm afraid I have to call him over to the hospital. Maybe he can find Jess sooner. I've got to call father, the five-star-general.
______
"WHAT?!" I can clearly see the disappointment in my fathers eyes. "So not only a man of yours got shot, but a woman of your troop got kidnapped and someone even died?!"
"I'm sorry, sir."
"That's all you have to say?! You have no idea what strings I had to pull to get you to be a captain! What do you think they'll say about me?"
"That's why I called you, sir. Maybe if you could help find her, you can save your reputation." He scoffs.
"Unbelievable... I really can't believe that you of all people have to be my son." It's silent for a few seconds. "Fine, I'll help you. But only because your mess can damage my reputation."
"I understand. Thank you, sir."
"What was her name again?"
"Jessica Jiraya, sir."
"Jiraya? Are you sure?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Nothing. This case has become even more interesting." I salute as he walks away. I'm about to walk back to Jake's room, but then I see eyes peeking through a slit of the door to the men's room. When I open the door I find Frank standing with shocked eyes. Great.
"Hey sirrrr...."
"Hey Frank, I think we need to have a word, don't you think?" He quickly nods.
______
"So let me summarize this: the five-star-general is your father who got you your job as captain?" I nod. "And now he's going to use his connections to save Jess, right?" Todd went to a convenience store to buy some food and drinks, so Frank and I are sitting in Jake's hospital room.
"Yes, that's right."
"And you didn't tell us because...?"
"Because my father's condition of me being the captain of The Special Forces was that I'd have to keep it a secret."
"I see."
"So can this be our little secret?"
"A secret between just us? That sounds good." There's a knock followed by Todd's figure.
"I didn't know what to buy, so I bought a bit of everything: croissants, chocolate, cookies, sweets, lollipops for eating, and water, Cola and something called Hertack Jen." Frank bursts out in laughter.
"You silly! That's not how you pronounce it! It's Hertog Jan." The rest of the night, me and the guys just sit, drink and eat. Frank has fallen asleep.
"Can I have a lollipop too?" His voice is soft, but I can cleary hear Jake asking for a lollipop. Todd and I stand up and are next to Jake's side in a matter of seconds. Make it milliseconds.
"Todd call a nurse." Todd runs out of the room. "How are you feeling Jake?"
"Like shit." He looks around the room. "Where's Jess?" Todd runs back in with a nurse on his heels.
"We'll talk about that later. A nurse needs to check up on you first." I take a step back so that the nurse can do her work. When the nurse made sure Jake was doing okay, she told us only one person could stay and then left. Frank has woken up in the meantime. He and Todd left to wait outside. I sit down next to Jake. "About Jess... Silas has her."
"What?!" Jake wants to get up, but I push him down.
"Lay down, you need to rest."
"What happened?"
"After you were shot, Silas pointed a gun at me. When he fired, Jess jumped in front of me and got shot in stead of me. A few of Silas' men entered the room. Jessica, Todd and Frank told me to leave her behind and save you and myself. Silas then took her with him."
"So she would take a bullet for you. If only I could rub it in her face right now." What is it with Jessica and taking a bullet for me? "You did the right thing, sir. Thank you for saving my life." He gives me a nod which I return. "So how are we going to find her?"
"I'm working on it."
