Chapter 7: Hypnosis

Felix' POV

It's around 3am and I can't sleep. Again. Like the last two weeks that we've been looking for Jess. Jake is still in the hospital and we held Woo-Bin's funeral 10 days ago. I'm holding a cup of coffee in my hand and think about the night Jess and I spend together talking. I meet up with my father every two days. We have met yesterday, so I was surprised when I saw his name on the screen of my phone. I pick up.

"Hello?"

"I found her, son. But we have to hurry if I'm right. My driver is driving me to you as we speak; I'll be there in an hour."  With that he hangs up. I run to the sleeping quarters.

"Wake up everyone! We found her!" First both Todd and Frank have a sleepy head, but when they have processed my words, they jump up at the same time.

"How? What? When? Who? Where?" Todd stumbles over his words.

"No time to explain. The five-star-general will be here in an hour with all the information. Be ready before then."

"Sorry, the who?"

"Frank explain it to him."

"Our amazing captain is the only son of the five-star-general. He secretly asked for his help to find Jess. No one is supposed to know they're related, so sssst." Frank puts his finger to his lips and sushes. Todd's jaw dropped as I walk out of the room to the kitchen and clean up.

My father's car stops in front of the building on the training grounds. His driver opens the door and he comes out. I straighten my back, I can't wait to hear what he has to say. Who knows: maybe Jess and I will be having another coffee together in two days. And we can finally talk about the... ehh.... kiss. I can feel my cheeks burning up, but no one can see as it's still pitchblack outside.

"Come in, Sir." I hold the door open for my father. Frank and Todd immediately stand up and salute the five-star-captain. "This is what's left of my troop: Frank van Druimelen, our tech guy, and Todd Croft, our sniper." Frank can barely hold his laugh when I'm pronouncing his name. "Our doctor, Jake Sorris, is in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound."

"At ease soldiers." The men do as my father says and lower their arms. 

"Would you like to have a kop of koffie or thee, sir?" I try my very best not to laugh when Frank said 'kop' instead of 'cup', 'koffie' instead of 'coffee' and  'thee' instead of 'tea', he must be very nervous. Fortunately my father doesn't seem to notice.

"No thank you. Now about the woman called Jessica Jiraya." We all get a bit closer to the genaral. "We've found her," Frank and Todd high-five each other. "even though it won't be difficult to get there, it will be hard to get in. There are a lot of trained men. We have to get in very quietly, because when Silas hears us, he will kill the woman." I shiver at that thought. "I have the support of a lot of important people, so we will have a lot of backup. The two of you will join other troops during this mission and Captain Jameson will join the combat squat."

"You don't have to call him 'Captain Jameson', sir. Todd and I know that you're his dad." My father looks at Frank. He already knew that Todd and Frank knew. But Frank doesn't know that my father calls me that more often that 'son', 'boy' or something like that.

"Anyway... The mission will take place today, since it is very urgent that we find Silas."

"Why?" I ask my father. The entire time it seemed like there was something more behind it, but I didn't dare to ask the question until now.

"What I'm about to say has to be kept between us. Only two handfull of people now about this." We all nod and get even closer to the five-star-general. "Silas used to be one of the best lieutenant generals in the army. But when he heard of a chip that contains access to nuclear bombs, he turned on us. On his country. He's been looking for it for about 25 years. We sent two of our best spies to go undercover and live their lives as normal as possible. They eventually had a baby about 20 years ago and they put the chip in the neck of the child. That child is Jessica Jiraya." I try to process everything my father just told us. When I look around I see Frank and Todd doing the same. "I hope you understand the rush we have to make in this mission, because if Silas finds out about the chip and hacks into it, the whole world will bow to him."
