When you were 10 years old, you found yourself in the place you would call your home for the next 6 years- Meteor City. How did you get here? To be honest, you had no idea. You couldn't remember a single thing from the past 2 years of your life, it was like a hole in your memories. You couldn't recall a single image, not a voice, not even a word to push you in the right direction of what in the world happened. Your first memory was you waking up in meteor city, alone. The only thing you knew was your name and the the ten tally marks on your upper left arm. this is how you figured out your age, but of course you could really only assume. You could faintly remember your parents and living with them in a small village, but once you hit 8 years old, everything had been completely stripped from your mind from then until now.

It was hard. Day after day of starvation, and eating the rare food scraps you would find laying around in the trash or who knows where. It was worse than living on the streets, because in this city, there were no streets. Just trash and crumbling buildings with more trash piled on top. it was a mess that the world used as its landfill and even worse, a hide out for major criminals.

Despite seeming empty at first glance, the city was actually populated with over eight million people. But these people- they weren't young couples in love, or happy and welcoming families. They were outcasts. Thieves, assassins, hitmen, you name it . It was certainly no place for you, clueless and young, but then again, you never asked to be there, it just happened. You were certain you would die. From what? There were countless possibilities, being killed and starvation only being two examples. But somehow, by some miracle, you managed to stay alive each and every single day you endured.

But with your struggle came strength. It started out shaky at first. If you were to try to steal from people, you would barely make it out unscathed. You were fortunate enough not to run into the more powerful people of meteor city. But as time went on, you learned and you grew up.

You became physically stronger- and faster, which was one of the most important things when stealing. By the time you were 12, you had started to grow a collection of random items like books and maps that you had stolen which were full of useful information for if you were to ever get out of this hell hole. At this point, surviving wasn't a problem anymore, now it was getting out.

When you hit the age of 14, you were able to steal from weaker criminals easily and even defeat some of your victims in a fight. Although life was easier than 4 years ago, it was still far far away from a life of luxury. You were sick of that life , stealing over and over with no end. It's not like you had any other choice though. Without food you couldn't live, without money you couldn't get out. It wasn't a fun life, not in the slightest. But that's how you got to where you are today, at 16 years old, on a boat to the hunter exam. You gathered all the money that you had stolen over the past years and bought transportation tickets from one place to another to finally get onto this boat. If you would be able to pass the hunter exam, finding a job would be much easier, and a job leads to money, which leads to getting places and actually making a life for yourself. You wanted seeing the world to be a realistic goal, not just a dream.
