"Hello."
My heart stopped as my eyes turned black, this wave of horror, pain, and shock rushing over me. "H-h-hello... Aleks." I let him in, a grin on his face as he silently hurt me again. "What made you stop by?" I spit out, wanting to get this over with. "I saw some posts on your social media accounts and I just wanted to," He picked up dust with his finger, "check in on you." I was confused for a minute, not understanding what he was saying. "Oh, well, I'm fine, Nikita's fine, we're doing great." I leaned against the wall, Aleks trying to make eye contact. "Actually, I'm about to go to dinner with Nikita and my boyfriend, so I have to get ready." I took a few steps forward before he herded me into the corner. "You have a new boyfriend?" He put his hand on my shoulder, fear for my life starting to swirl. "Yes..."
After what felt like forever, he finally backed off of me, my stress level going down. "So does Nikita like this new boyfriend?" There was venom in the way he asked, a horrifying look in his eyes. It was a mix of fury, resentment, and pure evil. "Well, he's meeting him tonight," I answered, Aleks walking around me as if he's a vulture and I'm dead meat. "Is he now?" His eyebrows were raised in interest, a look of dissatisfaction there as well. "Aleks, I really gotta get ready, but what exactly is it that you want?" I asked him as I put my phone on the coffee table. "I don't want anything, I just wanted to know how you and Nikita have been doing." I was offended by this. What the fuck was his problem?
"What, you leave me alone with our child for 3 years, the one you said you would be there for no matter what, and suddenly you just wanna stop by and see how we are? You don't get to stop by unexpectedly and just randomly check up on us! You have no say in what I do with my child, the one you left so you could fuck a bunch of twinks in night clubs! And you don't get to ask me how Nikita is after you walked out on him, and what, now that I have a new man you're suddenly concerned about a child you know nothing about? Like what the fuck is your problem?"
He was stunned. It might've been 5 minutes before Nikita came and broke the tension, a sigh of relief leaving my lips. "Papa, who's that man?" He asked me as I picked him up, a fake smile on my face as I did so. "He was just leaving," I answered, giving Aleks a look. He left us alone, Nikita wanting to play. "Sweetie, pick up your toys, we're about to go to dinner." I said, putting on an earring. The doorbell rang, my heart rate going up. I didn't know who it could've been. I answered, seeing Dima at the door. "Hey babe." I kissed him softly, a chuckle from his lips. "Hmm, what's that on your ear?" He put his hand on my ear, making me laugh. "Oh, you're just gonna put it out there?" I smiled, holding his hands. "I can't wear 2 earrings or else girls are gonna throw themselves at me."
"And if you wear one earring guys are gonna throw themselves at you."
"What, so no earring?"
"You wear one if you want, I'm just saying it's not very subtle," I gave him an odd look. "Do you want me to wear a left earring cause I don't think that seems right considering I'm going to dinner with a man..." He held me by the waist, the both of us laughing. I took a quick selfie before Nikita came into the room, a bright smile on his face. "Nik, are you ready to go?" He nodded, Dima opening the door.
~After Dinner~
"Sergey, there's one more place I wanna take you, if that's fine..." I looked in the backseat, Nikita sleeping. "As long as you don't plan to do anything 18+..." He smiled, holding my hand. "Don't worry, it's family friendly.." We laughed, Dima leaning over to kiss me. "Where are we going?" I asked, a big smile on my face. "It's a surprise, but I wanna make sure you have bags packed." I raised my eyebrow, looking back at Nikita. "Why do you want bags packed?" He chuckled, leaning back into his seat. "I wanna take you on a trip..."
"Dima, don't you think it's a little soon to be going on overnight trips with me? You barely met Nikita tonight."
"It's a 2 hour flight to Sochi for the weekend, you can't handle that?"
"Actually no, I can't, cause this is crazy and we're going too fast." I got out of the car, walking around the parking lot.
Dima's POV
"Where's Daddy?" I heard a voice say from the backseat, making me turn to look in the back. "Hey, Nikita, he's in the parking lot walking around..." The kid went back to sleep, a sigh leaving my lips. He trusted me enough that he left his kid with me in the car, why won't he let me take him on a trip to Sochi?
Sergey's POV
I got back in the car, Dima having a shocked look on his face. "You want me to take you home?" Dima asked, pulling out of the parking lot. "Yeah, but I want you to come in." He gave me an odd look. "When's the next flight out to Sochi?"
"In 3 hours."
"That's really late, but ok. Gives us an hour to pack." Dima got onto the freeway, my hand on his knee as I smiled over at him. I missed this. I missed having a boyfriend. I missed the trips to different cities. I missed looking over at the driver's seat and seeing a caring and loving man. "I think I love you." I watched as his cheeks turned red, a bashful smile from his lips. "I think I love you too." We both laughed, giving each other little looks. He truly made me happy.
