It's been a week since Dima proposed. It felt sudden yet right. Now we just had to tell Nikita. "Hey, Nik, we wanna talk to you about something..." I sat down next to him on the bed, Dima standing in the doorway. "Are you and Dima fighting?" We looked at each other, then back at Nikita. "Um, no, why would you think that?" I laughed nervously as Dima sat down on the floor. "I heard you screaming last week. Are you breaking up?" I gave him a horrified look, Dima looking confused. "No, we're not breaking up.. we're doing the opposite. We're actually getting married." He smiled, looking over at Dima. "Is Dima gonna live with us?" He laughed, nodding. "Well, Dima has a bigger house, so we might live there." He squinted his eyes at me, making me laugh. "Can we get a cat?" Nik asked.

"I actually have a cat, do you wanna meet him?"

"Yeah!"

"Ok, I'll be back in a few minutes."

Dima got up, heading to the door. "Why were you screaming?" I looked at the floor, trying not to laugh because he was too young. "I had a nightmare," I told him, smiling to cover my lie.

A Few Months Later

"Hey, um, Sergey, can we talk?"

I looked up, feeling nervous. "Sure. What's going on?" I put my book on the nightstand, Dima having a weird look on his face. "Well, uh, since we're getting married in a few months, my family wanted to meet you..." I was surprised, Dima holding me at the edge of the bed. "Are you okay with that?" He asked, seeing how I was scared by this. "Uhm, yeah, sure.." I didn't know what to say. It still didn't feel real that we were getting married, maybe we were going too fast. But I should've met his family months ago, so it's possible we were kinda slow too. "Okay, but I should tell you we're having brunch with them tomorrow..." I kissed him softly, smiling. "Okay, I'll set the alarm." He had a look of relief paint his face as he leaned in for another kiss, holding me by the waist. "Were you like this with any of your exes?" He laughed, shutting me up with another kiss.

"No, I never really liked them. That's why they're exes. But the next person always gets the better version, so hopefully you have the best version of me."

"I think I do."

We looked into each other's eyes, just smiling, staying in complete silence. "So I'm meeting your parents and sisters tomorrow?" He nodded, moving his hand to my cheek. "Are they gonna like me?"

"They're gonna love you."

He kissed me again, bringing his other hand to my other cheek. I fully acknowledged where we were going in our relationship. It had almost been a year since we went on our first date, but somehow I couldn't see my life without him. "Dim," He opened his eyes, looking scared. "I really love you."

"I love you more."

Dima took my hand, caressing it, giving my lips light kisses. I've never felt happier. Is that a bad thing?

The Next Day

"Dima, are you absolutely sure they're gonna like me?" I asked him as he dragged me out of his car, smiling friendly at me. "Yes, baby, they're gonna love you. Now let's go." I sighed, picking my feet off the ground. He found the table they were sitting at and brought me over. "Mom, Dad, Elena, Anna, this is Sergey. Sergey, these are my parents and sisters." We exchanged a few hellos before we sat down, his family seeming warm and friendly. "So, Sergey, what do you do for a living?" His mom asked, smiling. "I'm a content creator. I post videos on TikTok."

"That's where I know you from!"

I smiled at Anna, seeing as she took out her phone. "That's on me," Dima said, putting his hands up as he surrendered to his Dad's eye roll. "You actually make money off of filming strange clips?" His mother asked in disbelief, Dima looking annoyed. "Yes.." I smiled, Anna showing everyone one of my videos. "He posted videos with Dima," She said, Elena seeming shocked. "Do you work together too?"

"Not really, but I'm in some of his videos," Dima answered.

After Brunch

"Hey, uh, Sergey, they're gonna be staying at our house for the weekend, so if you could keep your clothes on..."

I rolled my eyes, closing the car door. "Since when have I walked around naked on the weekend?" Dima started giggling like a little kid, showing me his lockscreen. "Since we started dating." I pushed his phone away, horrified by the picture. "You call your mother with that phone?" He laughed as he put his hand on my knee, merging onto the highway.

Dima's family followed us in their car, my Mom greeting us on the porch. "Thanks mom," I hugged her, then she left. Dima's family got out of their car, walking up the steps as I picked up Nikita.

"Nikita, this is Dima's family, they're gonna stay with us for a few days."

"Ok. Hi!" He waved at Anna before running back inside. I laughed nervously, looking over at the group of people. "He gets nervous around new people..." We went inside, Dima not getting away from me. "Um, babe, where was this when I wanted it?" He laughed, kissing the top of my head. "I'm a little nervous..."

"How come?"

"I don't know how they feel about you having a son.."

I turned around to face him, confused by his words.

"Why is that?" He sighed, sitting down on the couch. "They knew I was getting married, not having a stepson." I sat down with him, thinking about it. "It's your marriage, not theirs." He smiled, kissing my cheek. "I'm sure they're fine with the situation. But if they aren't that's fine too. Now can you explain why your dad keeps giving me dirty looks?"

Dima laughed, pulling out his phone. "You posted something on Instagram and, as they often do, they stalked your page..." He showed me, making me gasp. "That was an accident, oh my god!" I got mine out, going to take the picture down. He laughed, leaning his head on my shoulder. "You're kind of a crazy bitch." I rolled my eyes, smiling.

"You love it, don't you?"

"I really do."
