The mahogany door swung open, revealing a breathtaking office bathed in sunlight. Sir Denvierr, pen poised over a document, looked up, his gaze sharp and assessing.

"Hello po Sir Denvierr," I greeted, my voice a careful whisper.

"Who are you?" His voice was a low rumble, sending a shiver down my spine.

"Ah, Ako po si Asteria Iana viorica. Ang bago pong Secretary niyo sir." I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.  The weight of my mission pressed down on me.  This was it. Ang pagkakataon kong makalapit sa lalaking maaaring may hawak ng susi para matigil ang mga pagpatay sa mga CEO.

"Ok, What is my schedule now?" Tanong niya sakin.

I quickly glanced at the iPad and stylus pen Ms. Rocero had given me earlier, my heart pounding a frantic rhythm against my ribs.
"Ah, Sir Meron po kayong meeting with Mr. Manansala by 9:30 am." I answered.

He glanced at his watch, then back at me, his dark eyes intense. "There are still 30 minutes. Maybe you can make me some coffee."  His eyebrow arched, a silent challenge.

"Opo sir." I moved with practiced efficiency, the scent of freshly brewed coffee filling the air.

I placed the steaming cup on his desk.  As I was about to sit, his voice stopped me. "Did I say sit down, Secretary Iana?"

My cheeks flushed. "Pasensiya na po sir," I mumbled, my gaze fixed on the floor.  The minutes stretched into an eternity as I stood rigidly beside him.

Finally, he set down his cup. "Let's go."

"First of all, I don't like people walking with me. do you understand That's why you're just there in the back."

I opened the door, hurrying to keep pace with his long strides.  He was a whirlwind of power and purpose.  Then, abruptly, he stopped, his hand raised. "Stop!"

"Bakit po sir?" I asked, my voice laced with confusion.

He turned, his face impassive. "First of all, I don't like people walking with me. Do you understand? That's why you're just there, in the back."

"Ok po," I replied, resuming my careful distance.

At the meeting area, he dismissed me curtly. "You're just there. Don't follow. Mr. Manansala and I have something important to discuss."

"Sige po sir," I said, forcing a smile as I settled into the waiting area.  Napakasungit talaga nitong si Denvierr, I thought, kala mo napakapogi.  But a small voice whispered, Pogi naman si Denvierr. I shook my head, pushing aside the distracting thought.  My mission was far more important.

I needed to find the killer, and Sir Denvierr was my key.  I pulled out my phone and called Alex.  After several rings, she finally answered. "Hello Alex, Kamusta kayo dyan?"

"Oh! Napatawag ka Chloe, ok naman. Ito inaalagaan ko muna si Clark, malapit nang makalakad," Alex replied.

"Buti naman. Sige na, baka dumating si Sir Denvierr," I said, ending the call.
