Chapter Thirteen

One week later

Toni's pov

Today it's my turn to pick up Hazel from school. So I'm on my way now. Once I get there I see her. She walks to the car and gets in. She buckles up and doesn't say anything.

"Hey butterfly. How was school?"I ask

She doesn't answer and just looks out the window. I frown and drive home. Once we get there she gets out and goes inside. I get out and go inside. I see her taking her shoes off. Cheryl walks over and smiles at us.

"How was school Haz"she ask

Hazel doesn't say anything and just goes upstairs. Cheryl looks at me.

"I have no idea. She didn't say anything to me"I said

Cheryl sighs.

"We should just let her be for a bit"Cheryl said

I nod and Cheryl goes in the living room. I start dinner and I'm making Spaghetti. It's Cheryl's and Hazel's favorite. Once it's done I put it on three plates and then I give Ace his food. I tell Cheryl dinner is done and then I yell for Hazel. She comes down and sits at the table with us. She just plays with her food.

"What's going on bub?"I ask

"Nothing"she said

"Something happen at school?"Cheryl ask

I see Hazel start to cry making me get up and kneel down to her.

"Hey. What's going on? You can talk to us"I said moving her hair to the side

"I-i'm getting b-b-bullied"she said

I look at Cheryl and she frowns.

"About what bub?"I ask

"Because I'm smart and I wear glasses"she said

"What are they saying?"I ask

"Their calling me a nerd and four eyes"she said crying

I sigh and pick her up. She lays her head on my shoulder and I rub her back. Cheryl comes over to us and kisses her head.

"Can I tell you something Haz?"Cheryl ask

She nods and looks at Cheryl.

"I got bullied in school too. I had glasses and I was very smart. Just like you. They bullied me everyday. But I just ignored it and continued my days. I then started to stick up for myself. Sooner than later they started to back off. You'll find your people. Tomorrow or anyday. And one day your gonna show those bullies that your gonna be successful and brilliant"Cheryl said

"You were like me? But your so cool now"Hazel said making us chuckle

"Yes baby. Because I didn't change for my bullies I changed for myself. To prove to myself that I don't care about what they said. Or what they did"Cheryl said

Hazel then reaches for Cheryl and Cheryl takes her. She hugs her and Cheryl kisses her head. I look at Cheryl and smile.

"I'll let you guys do your girl talk"I said

I leave and go upstairs. I go in our room and change. I'm so proud of Cheryl. She is the best mother out there. It's her natural instinct. a bit later I'm laying down I see Cheryl walk in with Hazel in her arms sleeping. She comes over and lays Hazel on me. I wrap my arms around Hazel and kiss her head. Cheryl changes and puts her lotion on. Then she lays down beside me and wraps her arm around Hazel and puts her head on my chest. I kiss her head and wrap my other arm around her.
