Brendan's Pov
I feel rage as I stare at my team.
" So you're telling me that Nobody, Not One GODDAMN PERSON Found ANYTHING on the Petrova's?"
They all shake their heads.
Fuck.
I run my hands in My hair.
I've been in charge of this case and I've been failing miserably.
Boss is going to take me off of this case if i dont make any improvement.
But everyone's scared to tell us anything.
Like they are scared they'll die or get hurt.
I sigh and I check the clock.
It's 9:15.
I can't keep everyone here, I'll feel more of an asshole than I normally am.
" Everyone just pack up and go home, we'll figure this out tomorrow" I told my team.
I look back at my office slump in my chair.
" We'll find something, OK? We already got a few leads I've been working on this case since I was 18 years old and I was first recruited to NYPD" Katherine says
I smiled to myself and then I stared at her.
" You mean ever since you took the case illegally and then you got promoted to be an FBI agent.  tell me how you do that again,"
" nope. You already know my dads the chief of police and my brother works in FBI also"
I sit at the edge of my desk and I check to see if anyones watching.
Good.
She makes sure the blinds are shut and she turns to me and kisses me.
My hands at her sides tugged her closer to me.
Her hands go in my hair tugging and pulling.
I stand up and sit her down on the desk while I stand between her legs.
This has been going on for a month.
Sneaking around and sleeping together.
No feelings involved and were good friends.
Except her brother is my rival.
We used to be good friends but he slept with my ex-girlfriend.
Jokes on her though,Now I'm sleeping with her enemy.
And she's fucking beautiful and perfect.
Soft dark brown hair, dark brown eyes are almost black, Full pink lips that are dying to be bitten, A nice ass and very slim body.
I wrap my hand around her ponytail and I pull her hair.
A gasp escapes her mouth and I kiss her neck and she moans my ear.
Then a knock on my door makes me pissed.
She gets down from the table and fixes her hair in a little bit of makeup she has on. I fix my messy hair even though it's gonna be a mess either way and I fix my tie just down on the chair right beside me and I answer the door.
Motherfucker, it's Xavier, her brother.
" Where's My sister?"
" We were discussing a case ,why?"
" I need to talk to her immediately"
I could feel Kathrine roll her eyes.
Bullshit.
You just wanna scream at her and threaten to take her job away.
She strolls past me " Can't Xavier I have to work on this case"
He scoffs " Like you're getting there"
" What's that supposed to mean?" I ask.
" It's obvious that you're not getting anywhere"
" Hm,you try to find shit on one of the most powerful mafias in the world and you see how easy it is. Until then stick to criminal homicide"
He Grunts and puffs his chest like he wants to punch me.
Please do hit me Xavier, I've wanted to kick your ass for 3 years now.
He doesn't though.
Instead he leaves.
I shut the door behind him.
" So wanna go back to my place?" I ask.
Even though I know she won't, We don't complicate things like this.
We don't hold hands,Spend the night with each other,Or even talk about feelings romantically about each other.
We hit and we leave.
It's just sex. But she's my friend.
She shakes her head " I was hoping we could have a quicky and I gotta be at my parents house at 9:30 for a family dinner"
" Damn you gotta deal with your parents tonight?"
I honestly feel bad for her now.
Her parents are fucking toxic, Always comparing her with her Brother,Always saying she could be better and always putting others before her.
And in high school her dad used to burn her with cigarettes if she did something bad.
As soon as she turned 18,she enrolled in the police academy and moved out of her parents house.
But she always tries to see the good in them, Even if she hates them there's part of her that still loves them.
She nods her head " Yep,Wish me luck?"
" You'll need it" I shake my head.
And with that,She heads out and leaves.
I decided to stay at work even though I've been here since 7am.
I grab the case files.
The Petrovas are good at hiding all of their information,But Ik even better at finding.
I know for a fact in 2 months there's going to be the annual Gala.
It's for All of the criminals to get together and make plans and get partnerships .
But they didn't know that the FBI had been snooping around.
Especially not me.
I will get revenge on The Emerald Pythons for what they did to my dad
