Tul cherished every second he spent with his husband, Max.
This year marked their thirteenth anniversary as a couple, they decided to go on a date to celebrate their day as they did every year. It was an important celebration for them that they even took a day off from work just to enjoy it together.
They had spent a month planning for this day and searching for the best places and the best restaurants to go to. Luckily for them, their anniversary day was on a Friday that year, which made it easier for them to plan, as they wanted to enjoy a three days trip together.
Tul always wished to go on a picnic date, yet they haven't had the chance to have a picnic together when they were dating. Therefore, the first part of the plan was the picnic date near the river.
"Max!!! Did you put the beer bottles in the bamboo basket?"
"I did! Did you bring your shorts, Tul?!"
"Yeah! Don't forget the cake, Max!"
"Bring the blue blanket!"
"I did! Let's go!"
It was eight o'clock in the morning, Max and Tul were running around the house, grabbing their keys, phones, everything they needed and finally the picnic basket sitting on the kitchen table.
Tul was dancing as he walked as if he were at a party. He always wanted to go on picnic dates, and this day finally came on their thirteenth anniversary.
As they arrived at the riverside, the land was fully covered with different kinds of coloured flowers, huge trees that were holding fruits, under one of them, where they sat, was sleeping a tiny and cute kitten. The sound of the water mixed with the singing of the birds; all the sounds combined creating some type of music, a nicely written melody that made the place feel heavenly. All things seemed to glitter under the sunlight, exposing their own beauty to the lovable couple.
Tul brought out the homemade bread, dumplings, cake and other delicious treats and made their plates. He handed Max a bottle of beer that was ice-cold. After that, he turned on smooth music at a low volume.
Max was busy eating cake like a precious child when Tul was watching him - eyes sparkling.
"I'm so lucky, indeed..." he murmured, and a smile made its way on his face.
"Hm?" Max stopped eating for a second and looked at his husband.
"I'm so lucky to have you, Max," Tul repeated and held Max's hands, placing tiny kisses on them.
"Me too, Tul!" Max's smile at that time was a real representation of the name that Tul usually calls him with, 'a sunshine fluffball'. Ever since they got to know each other, Tul's favourite part of Max and his weakness was that shining smile.
When the food was finished, and they were already full, they started playing and running around without a care in the world, splashing water at each other and Max started picking pretty flowers and gifting them to his lover knowing how much the latter liked them.
Max picked one pretty white flower and pulled Tul closer to him with a smirk on his lips, he planted a soft kiss on Tul's pillowy lips before letting go of him and placing the flower in Tul's hair. "Pretty," he spelled before cupping Tul's face in his hands and locking their lips together again.
After a while, Max fell asleep on Tul's lap. "Babe, we should go back home, you know?" Tul giggled, his fingers gently making their way through Max's silky black hair as the latter was peacefully sleeping on Tul's lap.
"Just five more minutes..." Max whined, he glanced a little at Tul with puppy eyes before closing them again.
Max had become his favourite part of every day, being together was the only thing that mattered to him; he didn't care about anyone else around them, he didn't care about the world when they were together, what mattered for him the most was only them - Max and Tul.
Tul chuckled, seeing his man being all cute and sleepy always made his heart flutter. After all those years together, Max still never failed to make Tul feel all the butterflies. He always wondered why he fell for this guy among everyone else who loved him and asked him out, as he rejected them one by one.
"Baby," Max whined again as he pouted, "you stopped playing with my hair... what are you thinking of?" he added as he sat back up and moved his face closer to the daydreaming Tul.
"I was just wondering how I can be this lucky to have you all mine," Tul smirked.
