Summary: Distance relationship with Venti is not that easy as what you think....

Summer was your favorite season, well except for the extremely humid weather it gave, but when summer break starts; all the fun things begin. It's the season where you can hang out with your friends all day, go on a camping trip, go to the beach, on a summer festival or anywhere you and your friends desire. You always spend the rest of the summer with your friends and especially with him... The pleasant smell of the sea breeze along with the scent of sun heated beach sand and sweet fresh cut watermelon met your nostrils. You sat alone under the shade of an umbrella as you watch your friends play volleyball in the distance. Summer... you like summer, It's fun but not without him..
This is the second summer you're spending without Venti. The two of you have been close friends to each other since high school and started dating in college. You have always admired his astounding talent in music as he is always fond of music. He long planned aim to study on a prestigious music school abroad after college and as a supportive significant other you are, managed to persuade him to go as you don't want this opportunity to be wasted.
"But Y/n... This school is in abroad! What about you?! I don't want to leave you..." He whined, a hint of sadness on his tone as he gently pulled you on a hug. "Come on, I'll be fine! I know you've always wanted to go in that school, It'll be a waste if you don't go.. Besides, we can still contact each other regardless, right?" You tried to encourage him, giving him a gentle pat on his back. "But that doesn't change the fact you'll be alone! I'm just worried about you..." He proclaimed, hugging you closer as he buries his face on the crook of your neck, "Like I've said, you don't have to stop achieving your life-long dreams because of me, you deserve better than that! I'll be fine here, I promise." You reassured even though you know him leaving you to pursue his dreams will be heart-wrenching.
Months have passed since he left, everything was still going smoothly and well. He calls you everyday during breaks or sneakily messages you during his classes, of course you scolded him for that. As time goes by, months turn into to a year, Venti's schedule began to be packed up with practice and performances giving him less time to give you a call. You on the other hand, of course understand the situation he's in. However, the heavy feeling in you is starting to fill. You miss him a lot, you miss his warmth, his hugs and kisses, you miss spending time with him, you miss going out with him, you miss everything you two do together.
You promised you'd be fine but it was more complicated than you thought. "What're you doing this summer...? Don't you have summer break?" You whisper asking as you stare onto your laptop screen, watching him check his schedules as he hummed. "Hmmm... Sadly, my entire summer is packed with practice for the upcoming campus music competition, although I'm excited!" He chirped with a smile visible on his face. Venti is always naturally optimistic, he never shows any distress or any negative emotion, including... When it comes to his long distance relationship with you, although you sometimes catch the gloomy sadness look on his eyes every time he gives you a call, occasionally telling you how he misses you a lot and wish you were there to spend time with you.
One time you once had an argument with him, about your relationship with him and about the long distance between you two. You couldn't help but wonder if he will come back to you after he graduate his degree or if you two stay on a distance relationship as he continues his new found career. You couldn't stop thinking about it. "Hey... Feeling sad again?" He started, noticing your long stare, "Of course I am..! How can I not.. This is the first summer I'll spend without you, a summer without you..." You muttered as he became silent on his seat.
"I have a lot of plans that I can't be able to do with you..." You continued frowning, "Awwe.. Come on, love. Cheer up! Don't be too sad on me now...!" He comforted with the gentle smile you always love plastered on his face. "I miss you too, y'know." Mutual feelings always had a good relief on you, you were glad he feels the same as you, glad he misses you as much as you miss him.
You slightly smiled at his words "But remember, I will always walk thousands of miles away to come back to you, I will always return to you.."
Night has fallen, you and your group of friends gathered around a campfire that was set in front of the beach house you all stayed in. The area was filled with chatters and laughter, chatting about the volleyball game they played by the shore, sharing jokes, compliments, stories, and anything what came to mind. But you in the other hand was silent the whole time, silent the entire day feeling despondent, lost in daydreams.
But of course, your friends never let you feel down, you have such good friends who always take care of you, even in your darkest times. They're the reason you're here with them, inviting you to a vacation to get your mind off things and to ease the worries that has been building up inside you. "Y/n, come on! Sing with us!" One of your friends called as you didn't notice they were jamming to a song that is so familiar to you, the song you loved so much, the song Venti composed for you.
Venti was a prodigy. Self-taught at a young age and has never failed to astonish others with his soothing melodies, later on glorified for his hard work he dreamt of making ever since. High school came and he met your amiable presence, you were the one who kept motivating and inspiring him through his hiatuses, he couldn't help but be more appreciative. All those rehearsal practices he's had, you always watched regardless of how busy your schedule is, sometimes he lends you his instruments and teaches you how to play with his prior knowledge. Until that one day as college students, he informed you at the cafeteria while it was lunch time that he had a special tune to recite and that he inquires your personal opinion on it. You came to recital as promise, never knowing what was going to happen soon.
The depth and warmth of the last notes lingered in the room for several seconds, that was when he confessed his feelings to you with his stimulating words that you fell for. You were too stunned to speak, not in a negative way but you felt your heart pumping rapidly and your cheeks burning up. You knew you liked him too.
You remember that day like it was yesterday, how unforgettable it was. How much you truly miss him. You didn't respond to your friends as you just listened to them singing the song. When the last part of the song hit, everyone suddenly stopped, but you didn't pay close attention as you we're lost into your own thoughts, you we're brought back to reality as you heard a very familiar voice behind.
That singing voice that you always adored, that beautiful and pleasant voice that is so soothing as the wind, you miss it so much. Your friends decided to leave you and the person alone as you turned around shocked and tears running down your face; you saw him there standing behind you, a sweet soft smile plastered on his face as he finished singing his song.
