you rubbed your templates. you were frustrated. but, it wasnt from your work, it was kuroo. you contemplated whether or not to apologize. but you werent totally in the wrong, he didnt let you explain, but most of the blame was on you. "did you hear? y/n and kuroo stopped talking." people gossiped. "really, aw man, i put my bets on them," "well, if president doesnt want his fangirls to track her down, she should back off." you clenched your fists at the rumors. you really hated how quickly word spreads around at your school. you walked up the stairs to the roof, in need of a break. you leaned your arms against the ledge. the gentle breeze embraced your face as you closed your eyes in content. 'if im being honest, you were much happier when he was around...' you recalled what nishimiya said. maybe you were. and you despised the true fact.
"uh! kenma!" you yelled jogging down the hallway, catching up to the two toned haired boy. "oh, hey, y/n." he greeted tapping away on his psp. "youre on kuroos volleyball team, right?" you questioned. he nodded in response. "so, do you mind if..i go to the gym with you? i have something important to do." you lied. "okay, i will meet you at your locker, yeah?" he looked up at you. "sure, i will see you later then." you smiled before walking back to the council room. no turning back now.
"thanks again." you cooed adjusting the baseball hat you wore. you didnt want to be identified that quickly, so you decided to wear your work disguise. zipping up your grey sweater, you and kenma faced the red gym door. "its nothing, really." he side eyed you as he opened the door. he held the door open to let you in first. you smiled and entered the gym. "im gonna warn you right now, kuroo may or may not be fond to see you." he informed as he set his bags down. "i know that, its my fault." you looked down. "well, not entirely. kuroo grew up without a father figure, and only two years ago, he lost his mom so hes living alone. he was also a very independent kid growing up..." you felt something struck at your chest. "...hed always be in his room, studying or doing work. hell, even i was worried about him. with being tied up with his work, he barely made time for his parents, and once they were gone, he learned it the hard way." kenma zip up the nekoma tracksuit. "i never knew that." you clenched the seam of your sweater. "a lot of people dont, he tries to forget it as much as he can." kenma sighed holding the blue and yellow volleyball. "lately hes been lacking off, so im counting on you to cheer him up." he smiled at you before going out the the center of the court with his other teammates. you thought about what kuroo meant when he said 'you never seek help and doing that youre gonna end up all alone.' it was much clearer now that you know his past. you felt much more guilty after hearing it.
you stepped off of the bleachers as kuroos teammates began to leave. "hey...kuroo." you hesitated as his back was facing you. at the sudden voice that wasnt his, he jumped a bit. "oh, y/n." he turned to face you. his face read very much uninterested. "i wanted to apologize. for making you feel that way, i didnt mean it seriously." you started. "i thought i had finally started my life when you walked into it like a door, you made me realize things. thank you for that." you softened your face with a smile. "well, i just needed to get that off of my chest, goodnight." you turned to the door. "wait," he mumbled as he grabbed your wrist. "i—uh ive been wanting to apologize too. i didnt mean to lash out at you like that. and mostly leave you on the streets. i was stupid for that. my emotions got in between this whole thing. im sorry." kuroo looked down. "what! no no—im in the wrong, you have nothing to worry about!" you waved your hands nervously. "most of all, you actually probably saved me. if not meeting you, i wouldve been caught up in much more bigger things if it wasnt for you to stand up for me. im grateful for you." you snorted. "so, does that mean im your hero?" he cocked. your eyebrow twitched, "not that again." you sighed. "f-fine! you-re my...hero." you mumbled. "whats that? speak up." he teased. "youre my hero." you muttered louder. "i still cant he—" you cut him off. "youre my hero!" you almost yelled. you soon heard kuroos laugh. some how, his laugh was funnier than the joke. you even let out a light laugh. "ive missed you, kuroo." you voiced as your fit of laughter died down. "ive missed you too, y/n."
