We walk through the door and it leads to a small balcony. "Wow!" I say looking into the sky. It's almost dark but the sun is giving off its last light of the day. "Yeah, it's nice! Over here!" He says walking over to the corner of the balcony. There's a rope instead of railing going around it.
What he shows me, is one of the wooden posts that's holding the rope. "Really? That one little wooden post?" I ask laughing. He points his finger at me and then lifts a little piece of wood that lifts up the top of the post and it reveals a hollow wooden post instead.
Jordan sticks his hand in it and pulls out a small paper bag that's been squished together. He hands it to me. "What is this?" I ask. "Just open it," Jordan says rolling his eyes. I giggle and the gently open the bag. Inside is a few pictures an then a few newer ones.
I pull them out and look at that. One is of Issac, Bethany, Cierra, and Jordan outside on a field as kids. Another is of Jordan and his Mom, Paula. There's one that is of just Jordan playing the piano. Then there's one of me and Jordan taking a selfie. I flip the picture over and there's writing on the back.
It reads," Ever since I've saved her, my life has changed. Everything is brighter and it's easier to wake up each morning, Wondering when I'll see her next. It's simpler to be happy, I just think of her. She is my secret." I'm crying with tears of joy.
I look at the last one and it's a picture of me, just me. There's also writing in the back. I read it," How can you not see why I like her? She's is definitely pretty but look into her eyes. You can see how intelligent, kind, and funny she is. She is a treasure, and I love her."
"Well there's something else in the bag," Jordan says. I look in it and there's something shiny at the bottom. I reach in and grab it, a silver locket. "My mom gave it to me, said when I find the right person to give it to her. And I think I found that person," he says taking it from me.
I lift me hair up as he put is around my neck. Then he comes in front of me. I look at it and then snap the top open. Inside is a picture of Jordan when he was little. Then a recent picture must have been added on the other side, a picture of me when I was little.
"How did you get this picture?" I ask wiping off my tears. "Well... You have a lot of pictures of you on the Internet," Jordan says laughing. I put the pitcher back in the bag and set it on the ground. Jordan takes me hand and he stares into my eyes.
"I can't image, what my life would be without you," I whisper. "Without you, I'd probably would be less normal than I am now," he says. "Well that's sinks because I would be more normal without you," I say. We just stand there looking into each others eyes.
I feel as if it's just me and him in the world. No one else is here. The world around us is silent when we are, because only we exist. He has led me passed the stars. Farther than the eye could see. He brought me to a world where everything is happy. He is holding me up there.
Without him I start to fall, not able to stay up in that happy place. Somewhere, that is as bad as hell. I could be translated into an emotion, this place. Alone. The worst fear everyone doesn't want to be. But he saves me each time, right before I touch the surface of alone.
The locket he has given me holds as much value as the ring on my finger. It's both signs he loves me, and I can't get over that. "I got it," I whisper. "Hm?" Jordan asks. "You asked me to tell you something that you can hold onto forever. And I said not until I have one more poem to write down in my journal. I found that poem!" I say.
"Well go write it down and give it to me!" Jordan says laughing. "Okay be write back, I'll text you if I get like trapped by all of them!" I say running inside and down the latter. I run across the street and into my house. "Athena who knew you could write poetry!" Issac says laughing, as I walk through the door. "What the heck are you talking about?" I ask.
"Marzie took you small book and read it to all of us. Your poetry speaks to me, how you love Jordan," he says laughing. "Where the heck is it?" I ask. "I think Cierra is reading it now," he says pointing into the living room. I run in there and they all are looking at my journal.
"Wow she's such a poet!" Bethany says. "I god damn are! Give me my journal!" I say because I'm angry. They all jump a little and look at me. They look serious and hand me the journal. "Are you guys okay?" I ask looking at them weirdly. "Um yeah, it's just we never knew you could write that. And it's all about Jordan too," David says.
"Yeah," Marzie says. "Thanks well it was for Jordan. I had one more poem to put down and then I have to give it to him," I say taking a pen off the table and start dashing down what popped into my head. Kat looks over my shoulder and reads something's out loud to them. "He lead me passed the stars. Farther than the eye could see. He brought me to a world where everything is happy. He is holding me up there," Kat reads.
"Awwwww," they all say. After I'm done writing I snap the journal shut. "We'll be back in a few bye!" I say running out the room and across the street.
