Chapter 29

When I get to the tree house I put the journal under my arm as I climb up the latter. I open the latch and climb up and onto the floor of the treehouse. I walk over to the door and open it. Jordan is just leaning against the rope and I grab his attention.

"Hey! Ima back!" I say. Jordan turns around and smiles when he sees me. "So that's it?" He asks gesturing to the journal. "Yuppie, yup yup!" I say handing it to him. "Wow there's so many!" He says briefly scanning the pages and is gonna read them later.

"Um yeah, Marzie found it and read all of them to the group when I went to grab it," I say shaking my head. "Really? And there opinion?" He asks. "They said it's amazing and surprised I could have wrote that," I say laughing. "Love you," he says. "Yeah I know," I say standing on the tips of my toes and kissing him.

He pulls away holding he journal between us. "Let's make a deal, we aren't aloud to talk to each other or touch each other till I finish reading this," he says. "No fair! Read the last one and you'll get why!" I say. "Nope! It will torture us to death! I'm not aloud to speak to my fiancé!" He says. "Fine! You better read it quick or I'm gonna go insane!" I say laughing.

"Okay starting as soon as I get one last kiss!" He says then kisses me like he won't see me ever again. Both of us don't want to pull away, we never do. It's been so long that if I don't pull away, I won't be able to breathe. I gently and slowly pull and stare into his eyes for a bit taking shaky breathes.

Separation from each other will not be easy for us. Jordan whispers," Starting now." I nod and then we completely separate from each other because we aren't aloud to touch each other. I wave good bye and climb down the tree house. I start walking back to my house, but I stop and turn around.

Jordan is looking down from the mini balcony at me. He waves and the flips open the journal and starts reading it. I bite my lip and back towards my house and continue walking. Again, when I get back everyone is crowded around in my living room.

"Athena! Just in time!" Kat says. "Oh god what now?" I ask. "Well we were talking about your poetry and then we are now playing a game." Issac says. "We are seeing who come up with the best poetry, like a poetry slam!" Bethany says. "Well who's turn?" I ask. "Yours!" They all say.

"Oh god, okay!" I say clearing my throat. "Your can't save me if I'm already gone. Gone can be the word though, because if your gone you usually don't have a choice. But I have chosen to be free, as long as you are by my side. You were never there, a ghost. You were a figure of my imagination, that has been brought to life. The life kept within my heart."

The clap and I bow my head. "Wow you've done better," Marzie says. "Well excuse me I don't have any inspiration. Everything in my journal are based off of stuff me and Jordan did!" I say. "Wait no way! You said a whole bunch of stuff that couldn't possibly be true. Like you have been falling, now caught. You've been falling in love with him!" David says.

"Yeah shut up that's mine! Copy righted! I can sou you!" I say. "Yeah well my turn!" Cierra says. She starts," Chicken wings. Wings of a chicken. Yummy and crunchy. Barbecued or plain. Celery and ranch. To many choices, chicken wings. " We all clap and she bows.

"Um guys I need to tell you something," I say. "Yeah?" Marzie asks. "Well um. Me and Jordan aren't gonna talk or touch each other till he finishes reading my journal. It's a challenge we are doing," I explain. "Aw! But he's you true love!" David says hugging my arm.

"Hey watch it dude, I'm engaged!" I say and they all laugh. "Hey I've known you since you've been in kindergarten because of Bri," he says. "Sh little one," I say patting his head. "Athena I have to warn you, Jordan isn't the fastest reader," Issac says.

"Yeah he really isn't. Are you sure you can not talk to him for a week?" Cierra asks. "A week?!?!" I shout. "At the most yeah," Bethany say so. "Your scaring me!" I say. "Wait guys lets just settle down with a movie, let's watch Todaro!" Bethany says and we all run over to the TV.

Right at the ending we all started looking at each other. Kat looks at Bethany and then grabs her hand. She quickly kisses her on the lips. Bethany is shocked and when Kat pulls away Bethany is like happy. "I'm officially Bi! I don't care what you think!" She says.

"Will you go out with me?" Kat asks her. "I see why not," Bethany answers. "Well we aren't officially a group unless we have a gay couple right?" I ask. "True!" Issac says. Jordan walks in holding the book. I try not to look at him because if I do this'll be harder.

"What I miss?" He asks. "The whole movie Todaro! Oh and the new gay couple," David says. "Wait gay couple?" Jordan asks. "I'm not gay I'm Bi! There's a difference!" Bethany says. "BETHANY AND KAT ARE DATING?!?!" Jordan asks surprised. "Yeah you better support it!" Kat says.

"I do!" Jordan says. "So how is it going to go with you two not able to speak to each other?" Cierra asks. "Um really hard right now!" I say laughing. "Extremely hard! I've only read like 3 poems," Jordan says. "Jordan it's been like 2 hours! There's 20 poems!" Issac says.

"Dang it! I won't last that long!" Jordan says. "Well let's say the first person to snap has to dye the tips of there hair!" Kat says. "Oh god!" I say face palming.
