It didn't take long to walk to the butterfly estate but boy it sure did feel long though. Shinobu was eerily quiet, makes sense with your responses to the literal head of the demon slayer corps was less than kind. It wasn't the most respectful to say the least in her opinion. And so you two did not share words together, though you would love to ask more questions as you had very little idea on what the test was going to be like, where it was and who you were taking it with. You know, the regular stuff.
By the time you two were at the mansion and had entered it, you were told by her where your room was and where to go for dinner, it was a very simple and short response before she left to her own.
You got to meet a triplet, though they all had last names they looked the same to you, with only different thing being their hairstyle and their colour preferences in clothing, Kiyo, Sumi and Naho. You also got to meet Aoi who was a little sour with her attitude, especially when you asked for seconds, and thirds, and fourths when you ate.
You stopped on Four.
By the time you had finished the triplets took your dishes and scurried away. You had retired to your room for the night. Reading maps and small booklets of information to ready yourself for the journey ahead. You weren't really the type to read but meh if you had to. About an hour has passed and you heard a knock on the door.
"Enter if you want."
Shinobu opens the door and closes it behind her still wearing that eery smile on her staring at you, she had on her butterfly haori.
"What's up." she was still silent despite your initiation to start the conversation.
She looked around the room, it was still very clean only with your satchels on the small cabinet beside your bed this was a smaller room with only one bed and much less area than the usual area where people recover and whatnot. You sat at the small desk given to you with a straight back looking at maps and knickknacks.
She approached you with a small box that you know notice. "So you are going to become a demon slayer now?"
"I suppose I can try." you responded, your eyes drag you to the box "What's that?"
"Your weapon." She places it down on the side of the desk and inside lied a broken katana, fragmented into many small pieces, the only piece intact was well in tact was the handle. Though the blade was broken you could definitely see the expertise in the craftsmanship. "Are you sure you want to do the test? You will have to fight the monsters by tomorrow morning and survive on a mountain filled with them for 7 nights."
You dismiss her skepticism, "What's special about this sword?" You pick up a piece and observe it not seeing anything really special with it.
"The sword is made from a special ore from sunlight mountain. With the power of the sun we can kill the demon by cutting their heads off."
Ohhhh that makes more sense now, you always were able to fight them and they would disintegrate at the exposure to the sun. But this is a little bit of a problem, you didn't really know how to use a sword, you could but it never felt right and you were never satisfied with the results.
Thank goodness you had another plan in mind though. "I see, does it have to be a clean cut though? One swipe with the head gone?"
"Or a few swipes."
You glanced at her she was still staring blankly at the broken pieces of the sword. "What about your sword, it doesn't have the blade."
She looked at you now, a little surprised. "Yes I use a special wisteria poison to get rid of the demons."
