Eveline

Long white dress with a veil covering one's face, this was every girl's dream. To be dressed in their wedding dress, to marry the man with whom they'd share their whole life with.

And I was one of those girls who always dreamt of getting married.

And here I was, decked up in my own lace white wedding dress, sitting in front of the mirror while my mother fixed my long veil in my hair.

Though I spent a night crying, today I was surprisingly feeling better. It felt as if my heart itself was pushing away some of the sadness I lived with.

I went to Neill's grave in the morning and as stupid as it sounded, I wanted to tell him that I finally had the courage to accept getting married to someone else other than him.

And since I came back home, it was as if a heavy weight was lifted from me. Maybe that was a sign I should give Alaric a chance and finally let Neill go.

Alaric was now my present and future while Neill, he was my past, no matter how much it made my heart ache.

"I'm so proud of you my angel." My mother spoke, breaking in my thoughts as she turned me around to face her.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she kissed my forehead and I hugged her tightly. I was definitely going to miss her a lot. I would miss her motherly embrace, her gentle voice and her sweetness.

Many people said I looked a lot like my mother, physically and personality wise. And that made me proud of her. She was a great mother, always caring for Elena and I. The thought of leaving her house was painful but I knew she was happy for me.

"I will miss you a lot, Mama."

Her arms around me tightened as I heard a little sob from her.

"I will miss you too my sweetheart. But remember, even if you'll be in another city, no one can separate us. I will be one call away and anytime you want me to visit, you just tell me. I will beat your father up to take me to you, my love."

I giggled at her words and she released me, fixing on the bridal crown she specially made for me.

"You'll be an amazing wife, Eveline. I know it. You're an angel and Alaric would never dare hurt you,"

"Even if he does, I will make sure he loses his own life."

I turned to the woman entering the room and immediately smiled, rushing to her.

"Alana! I thought you wouldn't have come because you just gave birth."

She rolled her eyes at me and said,

"Oh come on. My dearest cousin is getting married. How can I not see her in her wedding dress, huh? Moreover, it's been already two weeks since I gave birth and I convinced Rowan I was healthy enough to be with you today."

I laughed, happy she made it till here. Knowing Rowan, the boss of the Five points, it must have taken a lot for her to convince him to be here considering he was much more stubborn than his father.

"I'm glad you made it till here Alana." I hugged her tightly.

Alana was like an older sister to me. Only four years difference between us, she never made me feel as if we were cousins. Instead, she was always there with me like the elder sister I always wanted to have, even after her marriage with Rowan.

A baby cried behind her and Elena stepped in, and we all diverted our attention to her.

"I love your babies but none of your children love me apparently." Elena sighed, handing over her newborn to her while her 3 year old daughter suddenly ran towards me.
