A super soldier.

Two geniuses.

A mutant, of sorts.

A superhuman from another world.

A super spy whose abilities had been enhanced.

How was it that these 6 extraordinary people, with irreplaceable abilities and skills could let themselves fall?

They let themselves get inside their heads.

What had happened while he was gone?

Clint let out a weak sigh as he finished off fixing the final arrow head.

He then delicately placed the newly stocked quiver on the wall, then thought better of it.

Thor and Hulk were in the training deck, they usually caused an earthquake with their rallying matches.

Clint rolled his eyes.

He thought Tony would have found a way to stop the building from shaking so much.

"Mr Barton, Captain Steve Rogers would like a word." Jarvis informed.

Steve wanted to talk?

That was strange.

Clint placed the quiver on his bed then headed to go and find Steve.

He soon did.

"Cap? You said you wanted to see me." He called as he walked across the roof of Avengers tower.

"I just wanted to check in on you." Steve admitted. "You've been gone for a while and we've missed you."

Clint side-glanced him.

"I'm good, a bit tired but otherwise fine."

"How did your mission go?"
Steve asked titling his head.

Ah.

So that was what he wanted.

Perhaps Clint hadn't been as secretive as he had thought. He thought he had hidden it well.

Evidently not.

"Why are we doing this unofficially?"

Clint knew he was hedging his bets, but he knew Steve pretty well and he could read body language easily too.

Steve didn't want others, probably SHIELD listening in.

Steve sighed.

Guilty.

"Because you said something when you left training that made us think something was wrong."

Clint frowned eyes flickering as he tried to pick up as much as he could so that he stood a chance of getting the answer right.

"Nothing is wrong though." Clint said slowly. "Ran into a bit of trouble but I handled it."

"Clint, don't be criptic." Steve said gentler looking uncomfortable for a second. "What happened on your mission?"

"If you're so sure something went wrong, you tell me." Clint snapped heading back towards the door.

"Clint wait." Steve called when the alarms blared.

Clint groaned. He had only just come back from his own mission, he had yet to sleep on an actual bed and was tired and hungry.

Pizza would be lovely.
