I let go of Trina so she can catch her breath as I was squeezing the shit out of her chest. "What...How?... I thought you died." I say sitting on the kitchen chair that Jade had pulled out for me.
"Well. Remember when I got run over? That actually happened, as you can tell. I was thinking about how mom must have felt when she passed while I was in the hospital. So, I went to apply at the police station. I worked my ass off but they didn't think a woman with my injuries could handle it. So I came up with Toby, I got a fake arm, a fake leg, and all the shit I needed to try and pass as a man. I worked twice as hard to convince everyone around me that I was good enough and no one even noticed. So when they finally hired me I told them to reopen moms case. I wanted to find her killer. So they handed it over to me because I was the best damn officer they had seen in 20 years. I became a sensation. I had case after case after case handed to me. That's when I met Jade as Toby when she filed an assault charge on Beck. She and I became really close these past few years. But of course, she didn't know it was me. We all know Jade hates me. But I digress, I've gotten so close to finding out who moms killer is. He's in my basement right now. I'm gonna interrogate him. I hope everything works out... I'm so sorry I didn't tell you sooner Tor. I just didn't know how to. I wanted to, I really did. I just didn't know how."
Trina looks down at the floor. I'm so happy that she finally told me. I'm happy she's here.
"So, who is trapped in your basement," Jade asks snarkily with her arms crossed around her chest.
"Babe!" I say glaring at her.
"What. I have a right to ask." She says.
Trina laughs. "I can show you if you want. But you cant go crazy or beat anybody up. He, well you know him. Its Beck. Ill let you go talk to him."
Jades face drops, I cant read her emotions. Ive never seen her look like this before.
"So, youre telling me, that youre toby. You didnt take my ex boyfriends body and drop it off into the lake. The man who ALMOST FUCKING KILLED ME AND YOUR SISTER! You didnt think to take him to the police. You didnt think to drop him in the bottom of the ocean like YOU SAID YOU WERE FUCKING GOING TO DO! ARE YOU KIDDING ME VEGA!"
I look at her while shes yelling. Ive seen her mad before, hell we all have seen her mad before, but NEVER this mad. Her face is bright red, there is a vein popping out of her neck from how much shes screaming. I take a glance over at Trina who just keeps looking at the floor. Id stop her from yelling at her, but Jade kinda has a point. I mean Beck almost killed both of us MULTIPLE times. Jade more than me obviously but he still tried to kill us. I dont give a shit if he did kill me, But after I found out and watched him almost murder the love of my life... If I found out BEck did murder her or if I didnt stop him when he tried... I wouldnt be able to live with myself.
"Jade... Please.." I say rubbing her arm slowly.
" No all of you Vegas just hurt me. Thats all any of you do. What do you think this is some kind of game Trina? HE TRIED TO FUCKING KILL ME! HE TRIED TO KILL TORI! Do you not give a shit? YOUR SISTER ALMOST DIED! But all you care about is getting revenge on someone who mightve killed your mom. I get why you want to find her murder but come the fuck on. Stop being so fucking delusional. Beck didnt kill your mother. He had no reason. No motive. What would his motive be, Tori stealing my heart. No. We got together after she was murderd. Right? So why would he kill her?"
"Jade... We got together senior year of highschool. My mom died right after we graduated. Dont you remember?"
She takes a long look at me. She cocks her head in confusion. Her eyes are darting while looking into mine. Did she really forget? No. She couldnt have right? How could she... I thought she loved me...
"Y..yeah. Sorry... Uhm... Im gonna go lay down for a little bit. Enjoy dinner babe. Nice seeing you again Trina. I.. Im sorry."
Jade stumbles to the couch, flopping down onto it as soon as she can touch it.
"Jade?! Baby? Are you okay?" I say getting up from my chair and rushing over to her, Trina hobbles as fast as she can.
"Mhm. Fine..." Jade says sighing and covering her forehead with her arm.
I put my hand over her head, its boiling hot.
"Hey Trina can you get me an ice cold rag, shes buring up."
She nods and hobbles into the kitchen finding a rag and runs it over cold water, she grabs a couple ice cubes from the freezer and puts them on the rag wrapping them up in a little burrito type of thing.
"Here"
Trina says after hobbling to me. I nodd at her and place the rag gently on Jades head.
"Tori.. I.. Im fine." Jade says out of breath. "Just.. Tired.. Please.. Go home.."
"Im not leaving you here alone like this."
I look back at Trina and shes looking at the floor.
"What? What arent you telling me Trina."
"N..Nothing. Im gonna head out. Hope you feel better West."
"TRINA GLORIA VEGA! What are you not telling me. You cant keep secrets from me anymore. Its not fair." Trina stops dead in her tracks. She turns around and looks at Jade with pleading eyes. Jade shakes her head no.
"Jade.. What are you not telling me." Jade wont look at me. Neither will Trina.
"Nothing. Its nothing I promise. Please Tori go home, Im fine."
"No, im not leaving you alone. ESPECIALLY now."
"Vega.. Go get my meds from the cabnet."
Trina nods and walks to the bathroom grabbing a small orange bottle with a blue lid, she comes back and hands Jade 2 small blueish pills and a small cup of water, making sure that I dont look at the label of the medication. She rushes back into the bathroom.
"Jade.. What is going on."
"Nothing you need to worry about Tori. Im fine. Just allergies."
"This is not just allergies. I have a right to know whats going on with my fucking girlfriend Jade. Of all people I thought you wouldnt hide secrets from me. Not after what we just went through. Why wont you just tell me what-" I say before getting interupted
"I HAVE CANCER ALRIGHT! Jesus christ Tori. I have fucking cancer. Happy."
