(Max pov)
It's been a week since me and eleven hung out so I decided to invite her over.
Moments after she arrived I noticed she had a big bruise on her arm. "Hey el what's that?" I asked concerned. She looked down ashamed. "What happened?" She started crying into my arms and I hugged her very confused. "Mike... he hit me." She said through her tears. "Hes been forcing me to date him and was threatening to turn me in to the lab if I refused for a week now..." she said. I was infuriated. The next time I see his stupid face I'm gonna punch him so hard he can't get up.
"That fucking dick!" I squeezed her tighter and started crying because Billy hits me. She sobbed hardly into my shoulder. "It's ok el, let it all out I'm here. I will NEVER let him touch you again." I said comforting her trying to hide my anger. "If he comes near you EVER again I'm gonna punch him so hard in the mouth he loses all his teeth." I said angry. "He can't know I told you, I wish I could fight back but I'm afraid." She cried. "This is serious, he needs to be put in place. If he tries to turn you into the lab I'm gonna kill him." I said rubbing her back as she cried Into my shirt.
"He also said I can't hang out with you anymore..." she told me. "What? He can't control who you hang out with! I'm fucking calling him." I said and walked over to the phone. "NO! Please! He will tell the lab" she shouted at me. "We should at least tell hopper. He's a cop he can handle this" I said. She stood there for a second and then nodded and sighed. I dialed hoppers number and he picked up almost immediately. "Thank god" I mumbled.
"What do you want?"
"There's something that's been going on... something serious."
"Is el ok? Is she in some kind of danger?!"
"Well not exactly but... mikes been hitting her, hitting her hard."
"I never liked that fucking kid."
"And he's been threatening to turn her in to the lab if she tries to do anything back"
"I swear to god this better not be a prank."
"WHY WOULD THIS BE A PRANK HOP?! THIS IS SERIOUS!"
"Can I just talk to el? To make sure she's ok?"
"Yeah."
I passed the phone to el. "Yeah... mhm... I'm alright... promise... ok... bye." She hung up and slowly walked over to me nervous. "Is he gonna deal with it?" I asked. She nodded and she sat back down on the bed and I hugged her. I tear rolled down her cheek and soon after her face was soaked and as was mine.
In a bit there was a knock on the door. We weren't expecting anyone so we just thought it was Billy's new girlfriend or whatever so we left him open it. "Hey Maxine one of your little friends is here! He says his name is mike!" I sniffled and panicked. "El hide in the closet!" She nodded her head and quickly and quietly hopped into the closet and shut the door with her mind.
I ran to the front door to talk to mike. "What do you want?" I asked him. He looked furious. "Is el here?" He asked. "No I thought she was with you" I lied. "Whatever I've just been looking for her everywhere." He said quickly. "Well your looking in the wrong place." I said and then tried to shut the door but he grabbed it keeping it open.
"You wouldn't mind if I looked around would you?" He asked. "Actually i would mind stalker. Trying to go through my stuff aren't you wheeler?" I said sarcastically. "This isn't time for jokes. I know she's here!" He said angrily. "I would like it if you leave." I said. "Or what" he responded. "Or I call the cops. Now LEAVE!" I slam the door in his face. "Hey hey hey was he bothering you?" Billy asked concerned. "Yeah. He's been abusing el and I think is trying to do something to her. Something bad" I said. He nodded and i walked back into my room.
"You can come out now el." I said. She waited in the closet scared even though I told her it was safe. "El it's ok he's gone. El I promise" she stayed silent, I opened up the door and she tossed me across the room with her powers. When she realized it was just me she panicked and ran over to me. "Max, max I'm so sorry I thought mike was with you!"
