Author’s Note :
Hello everyone…. How have you been? I hope you are doing fine.
I’m back with a multi chapter story. I’m not sure where this story goes, or will this be good enough, but I write this to distract myself from…emptiness. July and August have been hard for me because my father was hospitalized for three weeks before he departed to a better place in heaven. Losing him was my biggest fear but in the end, I have no choice but to let him go. He’s been my sole focus for the past 19 years and when he’s gone, I feel a bit empty and lost.
Writing has been one of my ways to cope with whatever happen in real life. So, here I am attempting to write something even though it might be turn out lousy 😊, please bear with me…
Well, enough of me and without further ado…here’s chapter 1 for you guys.

Chapter 1 : Engaged
“Why do I not surprise to see you come alone?” Wen Zao An sighed as he put down his teacup onto the table.
Wearing his casual attire, Zhou Zi Shu walked into the living room. He gave Zao An the brightest smile he could mustered as he approached the grey-haired man who sat on the sofa.
“Grandpa, you know how busy A-Xing is.” Zi Shu replied and sat beside Zao An.
Another sigh escape from the older man lips. “He should pay more attention to you. Did you drive here?”
“Yes.”
“How was the photoshoot?”
“Everything went well.”
“What do you think of the new collection? Do you like it?”
Zi Shu laughed, “Of course I like it. The fabric was so soft, so it was very comfortable to wear. And I really like the colours.”
Zao An laughed and patted Zi Shu on his shoulder.
“That’s good. How’s Cheng Ling? Why didn’t he come with you?”
“He has a basketball course at school this afternoon and he’s invited to his friend’s birthday party. I’ll pick him up later.”
Zao An nodded his head. “Let Wang Yu drive you later.”
Zi Shu smiled and muttered his gratitude, knowing that he wouldn’t be able to decline him.
“So, how have you been, Grandpa? I heard you weren’t feeling well.”
Sipping his tea, Zao An reply, “I’m better now. But…I will feel even better if you move in here.”
Zi Shu took a deep breath, trying to find a reason. Zao An had brought this matter into their conversation whenever they met. However, he still had lots of doubts. Before Zi Shu could came out with any reason, he heard the familiar deep voice greeted the older man.
“Grandpa, sorry I’m late.”
Wen Ke Xing navigated his wheelchair into the living room and stopped in front of them. He looked at Zi Shu and nodded, acknowledging his presence while Zi Shu gave him an awkward smile. They knew each other for so long but they were still awkward to one another. Especially, after their engagement.
“Ah, you’re finally home. We’ve been waiting for you.” Zao An smiled widely when he saw his grandson arrived.
Ke Xing replied apologetically, “I’m sorry to make you wait, Grandpa. I had an urgent meeting.”
“Is everything alright?”
“Grandpa doesn’t need to worry. Everything will be handled properly.”
