Chapter 8 : Dissatisfaction

Doctor Chen joined the hospital around five years ago. He was Doctor Jia's junior in the university. Based on his outstanding achievement, he was soon recommended to join Doctor Jia's team. He used to assist Doctor Jia when handling his patients, but he never had a chance to handle Doctor Jia's VIP patient. So, when Doctor Jia called him to handle Wen Ke Xing's case, he was excited.

He sent Ke Xing's medical record to Doctor Jia in daily basis and received some instruction in return. He was confident that he had follow every Doctor Jia's instruction closely. He also shared his own opinions to Doctor Jia and the latter didn't give any negative feedback. Everything went well and Ke Xing's condition also stable as predicted by Doctor Jia. They just need to wait for Ke Xing to wake up to continue with the next treatment.

So, when Beiyuan called him to his office, he felt uneasy. However, he thought that it was normal for Beiyuan as the hospital director to put Ke Xing's case into his priority.

"Don't get too tense, Doctor Chen." Beiyuan said when he saw Doctor Chen's tense face. "I'm inviting you here because Doctor Jia hasn't return yet, and you are the one he appointed as his replacement."

"Hm, yes, Doctor Jing." Doctor Chen's confirmed.

"I am aware that you also taking care Mr. Wen."

"Yes, Doctor."

"So, how is his condition?"

"He is stable. We are hoping that he will be awake soon."

"Oh, that's good to hear." Beiyuan said, "How do you handle his case? Do you find any difficulties?"

"I've made sure to send Mr. Wen's medical record and all of his progress to Doctor Jia every day. After read Mr. Wen's medical record, Doctor Jia will give some instruction to me. Every single treatment has been discussed with Doctor Jia."

Beiyuan nodded to show his understanding and approval.

"That's good. However..." Beiyuan purposely dragged on his words as he watched Doctor Chen's face tensed up again, "However, I heard Mr. Wen's family isn't satisfied. They are planning to transfer Mr. Wen to another hospital."

Doctor Chen stunned for a moment before he responded, "Transfer...to another...hospital? Can they really do that?"

"What's your opinion about it? Is it possible to transfer Mr. Wen to other hospital?"

"My opinion...well, based on my observation, as long as he is stable, there won't be any problem. However, I would not recommend it. Isn't it will be hard for Mr. Wen and the family too? New hospital means new doctor and of course they will need to do another tests and observation for Mr. Wen in order for them to understand Mr. Wen's condition. What if the new treatment worsens his condition? Isn't that too risky?"

Beiyuan smiled, "That's why I called you here. Mr. Wen is our VIP patient, and his health is our responsibility. We have to make sure that we can handle our patient well. If Mr. Wen's family insisted to transfer Mr. Wen to another hospital and this news spread publicly...our hospital reputation will be affected. Our other VIP patients will put some doubt in our medic staff's ability. That only the minimum consequences. As you know...we always hire the best people...including you."
