Chapter 14 : A Little Secret

People said, happiness comes from little things in life. But sometimes, some people found it was difficult to find happiness. Why? Because people tend to refuse to let go of things that made them sad. Every people have their own good days and bad days. Some bad days could be the worst days in their life that left the most painful memories that embedded inside their mind and heart.

When someone bounded in the bitterness of life, it would be difficult for them to find happiness. What happened to Zi Shu recently, was certainly not something he wanted to experience. But of course, he also couldn't control someone's fate, including the fate of his father whom he has hated for years. Looking back to the past, he still could feel the pain in his heart. However, he realized that there was not much he could do but to learn to accept the fact that it was all in the past and what was more important now was the future laid ahead of him.

Therefore, he decided to control the only thing that he could. His respond to his current situation. Keeping the anger and hatred within himself would never do any good for him and his newfound family. He has a teenager that looked up to him, an elder who always showed his love to him and a soon-to-be husband who always support him. It always better to shift his focus to something that would bring him happiness. One of it was Ke Xing's health.

Zi Shu tried to be supportive as much as he could. He accompanied Ke Xing during his visit to Wu Xi. He also made sure to accompanied him during his therapy. Ke Xing looked happy whenever they went together. What he didn't understand was why Ke Xing always asked him to wait outside the therapy room. Zi Shu sat on the bench outside the therapy room, crossing his arms on his chest with a visible annoyed face. It wasn't because the patient's guardian not allowed to enter the room because he saw that some patients were accompanied by their guardian inside the room. But it was purely because Ke Xing asked him to wait outside. And Ke Xing, never told him the reason.

Thirty minutes seemed to be a long time while Zi Shu boredly wait until the therapy room door opened and revealed Ke Xing who obviously looked tired with sweat and red face. It happened every time he had his therapy session and Zi Shu grew worried because of it. Not allowed to be with Ke Xing during his therapy means he didn't know what kind of exercise Ke Xing did or the progress of the therapy. And this made him felt helpless.

"See you in the next session, Mr. Wen." The nurse said and nodded his head to Ke Xing and Zi Shu.

Zi Shu walked behind the wheelchair and gently pushed the wheelchair outside the clinic. Worried and annoyed, he decided to remain silent. Sensing the dark aura from the person behind him, Ke Xing opened a conversation.

"Something bothering you, A-Shu?"

"Nothing."

Ke Xing raised one of his eyebrows, knowing his answer has the opposite meaning. And, knowing Zi Shu, he was aware of the reason behind his attitude.

"You're angry." He stated but as they reached to the front door, Zi Shu didn't give any reply.

That was a confirmation. He had to hold his smile if he didn't want Zi Shu getting angrier. The trip back home was full of silent. Ke Xing knew exactly when he had to hold his tongue to avoid Zi Shu's wrath.

"A-Shu, can we talk?" Ke Xing asked as soon as they entered the mansion.

"About what?"

"About the reason you're angry."
