You took your usual seat in English class and pulled out the latest book you were reading while the rest of the students slowly started to trickle inside.

"Bad luck boys, her shirt isn't see-through anymore." One of the guys shouted as a group of jocks walked into the room.

You didn't give them the satisfaction of replying, instead you kept your head down while you continued to read, waiting for the teacher to show up and start the class.

"Y/N, babe, what do we owe you for the table dance?" Jason's voice suddenly called out as he appeared beside your desk.

"Suck my dick, Carver." You snapped, still not looking up from the book.

"Cool it, girl. At least you've covered your back, those scars are not flattering."

You bit your tongue, knowing that if you said anything it would be bad and the last thing you wanted was to get detention and give your mother another reason to be angry.

"Good morning class. How was everybody's weekends?" Ms. O'Donnell asked as she walked into the room.

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe we should ask Y/N." Jason replied causing the class to all laugh.

"Easy, Jason." Eddie's voice suddenly warned and you glanced over your shoulder to find him walking into the room, glaring at the man still hovering by your desk. "Just because she drank you under the table doesn't mean you have to be a dick about it."

The class all laughed again causing Jason to huff in annoyance before taking his usual seat behind you and you quickly turned back to the front of class, not wanting to see Eddie, despite feeling his eyes watching you.

The rest of English went by with limited shit talking from Jason and his goons and before long it was lunch. You found yourself sitting at you usual table at the far end of the cafeteria munching on your food while reading a book.

"Hey."

You looked up to find Robin Buckley sitting down opposite you with her tray of food and a bright smile.

"Uh, hey." You replied, putting your book down and looking at her in confusion. "Umm, are you lost?"

"Me? Oh, no. I just came to say hi and see how you were doing after the, uh, the incident at the party."

Now you were even more confused. Why did Robin care? She didn't even know you and you were pretty sure this was the first interaction the two of you have ever had, hell, you didn't even realise she was at the party Friday night.

"I'm fine. You can go back to your friends now." You brushed off, reaching for your book again before she continued to talk.

"I want to believe that. I really do, but I know that's a lie. I mean, I don't blame you, that was a shitty situation with the drink and white shirt and I heard the comments Jason and the other bozos were saying in English earlier. But, um, if you ever need a friend or want someone to talk to our table is always open, we're right over there." She said, pointing across the room.

You followed her line of sight to find the table of Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers all chatting away and eating together before you looked back at Robin.

"Thanks, but seriously, I'm fine."

Robin nodded, but didn't say anything for a minute like she was debating whether to get up and leave or continue talking. You were hoping for the first option, but then she started to talk again.

"I was surprised to see you at Steve's party. Didn't think it was your scene."

You shrugged your shoulders, "I didn't have a choice. I was doing Chrissy a favour... and it kind of backfired."
