One Love (Twobit Matthews)

When I First Saw Him

Oh no was all I could think as the car stopped. It was like my feet were planted to the ground and couldn't move. To top it off I was only half way to the D.X and couldn't run that far without them catching me. I stood and watched as 5 socs got out of the car and walked towards me.

"Well what do we have here?" One said

"A greaser girl and a pretty one at that" the other said he had rings on and seemed to be the leader of there group.

" I ain't lookin for a fight" was all I could manage to say.

"Here's the thing we don't care" the one with ring said as he smiled.

The next thing I knew one of the socs jumped towards me and grabbed me by my wrist. I punched him in the face but this just caused another one to drag me to the ground and pin me there. The one with rings pulled out a switch blade and I knew I had to call for help. At the top of my lungs I screamed. Which caused one to kick me in my side. The one with the blade cut a gash on my arm just before he was pulled off me by someone. This caused them all to run.

"Thank you" I said as I sat up to look at the guy who ran them off.

He was a guy with sideburns and a Mickey Mouse t-shirt on. He was holding a switch blade which is why I assumed the socs ran.

"Anytime but you need to get cleaned up they got you pretty bad" he replied

"I know but I don't really have anywhere to go" you admitted.

"Let's go to the D.X I got friends there who can help besides I was heading there anyway. Can you walk?"

I looked at him and he had genuine concern in his eyes. I didn't know why but I trusted this stranger and decided he was nice and just wanted to help.

"Yeah I can my names Nicole" I said

"Well nice to meet you Nicole I'm Twobit Matthews" he said and smiled at me as we started to walk towards the D.X.

We talked about everything and I found out the Twobit loves to tell jokes on the walk over. When I got inside I was met by 2 guys they introduced themselves as Soda pop and Steve. Soda was movie star handsome while the other was more tough looking. They were concerned and asked how I got hurt and I told them of the encounter with the socs. Twobit then walks back over with a first aid kit.

"your gonna need to take off your jacket so I can clean the wound" he says

Suddenly my heart drops I don't want to because they might question my other scars or my other bruises. I did have to clean the wound though so I took it off cautiously. They all glance at each other for a split second but didn't say anything thankfully.

"Ow that hurts" I say as Twobit puts alcohol on the cut.

"Im sorry but this is the only way I can clean it" he says as he looks up at me.

When he does that I got butterflies in my stomach. OH MY GOD.... Do I like him. My thoughts were going one hundred miles per hour. I can't like him could I. We just met and when I do see my brother he has never liked the idea of guys around me. What would he say? What am I going to do? I didn't even notice him finish cleaning up my cut because I was so deep in my thoughts.

"Hello earth to Nicole I'm done" Twobit says as he chuckles.

"Oh thanks I guess I spaced out"

"Yeah I noticed" he said with a big smile on his face.

"So you want to go eat some where it's lunch time after all" Twobit says.

At first I thought he was talking to the other 2 guys who had been observing us and talking to each other. But when I look up he's looking at me.

"Um sure where do you want to go?" I say

"We can go over to the Curtis house and eat" he says with a smile

"Ok sure let's go"

I say getting up and walking out with Twobit in front of me after saying goodbye to the guys and heading to the Curtis's with my thoughts still running through my head.
