It's been hours since Elias dropped me and Bells off outside my apartment, we've been having the time of our lives reading and listening to music. Well, I have. Not Bells, she peed on the carpet. Twice.
Now she has made herself comfortable in my lap with her eyes closed shut, while I pet her silky black and brown fur.
Oh only if Bella was here to catch a glimpse of the only family I got left.
I've watched over this dog for less than a day and she is everything to me, it's like I've had her for my whole life. If anything were to happen to her I would lose my mind.
I'm not sure what being a mother feels like but I assume it is something like this.
The sound of a knock flew through my ears. What shithead is out knocking on my door at dinner time?
The little fluffy face in front of me looked excited and jumped down from my lap. Does she know something I don't?
I became slightly light-headed as I stood up. This better be important because I was extremely comfortable seated down on my couch.
I grabbed the door handle. It's beyond my mind how something could get that rusty. I have to get it fixed soon.
Who was behind the door didn't shock me one bit.
"Thank god I finally found your apartment, I've been to at least twelve. I was starting to get afraid the food would get cold." Elias boomed when he stepped inside uninvited with a plastic bag in his hand.
There is absolutely nothing this man can do that doesn't get on my nerves. I am not exactly a people person.
"I didn't invite you in," I muttered but he had already made himself comfortable in a matter of seconds, sitting on the dirty floor playing tug of war with our dog. They weren't even using a toy, I'm pretty sure it was an old sock that had been under the couch since I moved here.
"Why are you on the floor, the couch is right there" I wondered out loud. Was he trying to make me embarrassed about my filthy apartment?
"I figured you wouldn't want my rich dad stuff on your belongings" he muttered. I never said that.
"Okay well, you can stay on the floor then." I hissed and sat down on the old velvet couch that got passed down from my grandma.
"I didn't know what you would like so I got a little bit of everything," Elias said and reached his hand over to the plastic bag he had brought into my house.
I didn't respond to him so he took it into his own hands and asked
"You haven't eaten yet, have you?"My mouth uncontrollably then let out a big sigh and I shook my head.
"I haven't had the time with Bells and all." That was kinda true and kinda not."I guess it's a good thing I'm here then!" Hearing him say those words made me enraged, I told him before that I didn't need his help, with anything. But a part of me was kinda amazed that another human being was treating me with warmth, not cruelty. That has always been unique for me.
"Fine, what did you get?" This time I didn't say it with anger, I said it with actual curiousness. I have been kinda hungry."I got tacos, but I also got pizza, only if you wouldn't like those." Tacos sound so good right now. I haven't had one of those in forever.
"Tacos sound fine" I mumbled. It looked like Elias could hardly contain his happiness. It's just food.
"I was hoping you'd say that. I love pizza." He cheered and made an effort to stand up from the nasty floor.
