It was early that morning when Zoro started to wake up. He noticed that Luffy and Ussop were gone and saw a sticky note on his forehead.
"Going to the cafe downstairs, we'll bring you some too." It read. Zoro trusts them with food, and by them he means Ussop. He doesn't know Luffy as well as Ussop and sanji but he's known him for a while to know that he'll eat your food and not even notice.
Sometimes it worries but impresses Zoro how much food sanji can eat but never gain any weight. He still just as scrawny as when he first met him. Zoro laughs at the memories playing in his head.
He checks what time it is and it's 8AM. If Zoro remembers correctly, Naita said that Sanji should wake up around noon maybe. Weird how they had a sort of exact time.. " I guess that's why they're doctors and have a professional job." Zoro thought.
He heard a knock on the door and it was Luffy and Ussop with breakfast in to-go boxes still hot. Zoro was in a rather good mood, he got to sleep a bit and have food. It doesn't take a whole lot to make him happy.
"So are ya excited Zoro? Sanji might wake up today." Ussop said. "You bet. Tis why I'm in a good mood as well." Zoro said taking a bite of his waffle. "Yeah I can't wait either. I still have to beat sanji on the video game you guys have." Luffy laughed.
Ussop and Zoro laughed at his comment too. Zoro looked over at sanji, still lifeless like. No movement. You can barely tell he's breathing but his heart rate and breathing reads normal. "I hope that doctor is right." Zoro thought.
He then felt a hand on his shoulder and saw Luffy in his face. "It'll be alright Zoro. I believe the doctor is on our side. He'll wake up soon, I have a gut feeling about it." He said. Zoro chuckled a bit at Luffy goofyness. "Did you put something in my food? Is that why you're being so nice?" Zoro teased.
Luffy huffed "IM ALWAYS NICE!!" He yelled. "Yeah but sometimes YOURE AN IDIOT!! Keep it down alright there are other people on the floor." Ussop said.
As time goes by it's already 11:30, almost noon. For the past hours they've been trying to entertain themselves the best they can. They're all excited but nothings happening. It can be really hard.
There was a knock on the door and it was Naita again. They came in to see how things were going and to be their when sanji wakes up. They honestly made things better, they got to talk about other things and not be so boring. They kinda brightened up the room.
Time goes by again and Naita is going over some Doctor stuff. It's a minute left from becoming noon. Of course Naita didn't really say noon specifically but they did mentioned Lunch time. To Zoro, noon is lunch, but maybe 12:30?? He didn't know for sure, he just wants sanji awake already.
"I've noticed you never once let go of his hand." Naita mentioned. "Of course. I never left his side either." Zoro said. Naita gave a concerning look. "I did when I used the bathroom." He said. They looked relieved.
"Hey, do you know how much longer till he wakes up?" Zoro asks. Naita checks the time and is surprised. Time went by quicker than what she'd thought. She started checking sanji up like listening to his heart rate and checking his temperature. Breathing rate, etc. but there was nothing in the wrong.
"He should've woken up. According to what the medicine and studies say and when I gave it to him, he should definitely be waking up soon." Naita thought.
She put everything away and told them to wait a little bit, and that he should be awake any minute now.
He wasn't waking up. At this point every body was stressing out. Ussop and Luffy were on the other side of him trying to wake him up by shaking him a little but nothing. Zoro tried saying his name a couple times and still nothing.
Naita calmed them down and to wait, they were going to go get another doctor in the room for a second opinion. Luffy and Ussop step aside and gave up. They automatically went into an embrace and they started to shut down.
Zoro on the other hand, was still trying. He started to tear up like the others, but didn't give up. "Please...please wake up. We need you, I need you." He cried into sanji hospital clothes.
He wiped the tears off his face and tried to regain himself. Zoro never really was a crier. For the most time he would still get emotional but was to stubborn to show it till he met sanji. Sanji helped open him up to be him and who he really was. He's always noticed that with their time together. He's always felt so safe and comfortable around him.
He's never felt this way before in his life. He's hasn't seen his true colors in a very long time. He loves this man with his whole life. Zoro leaned over sanjis body still holding his hand, and gently kissed his forehead and whispered "please come back to me..."before sitting back down in his chair in silence.
He leaned down to his hand and touched his forehead, he missed the feeling of sanji running his hands through his hair and calling him moss head. He found it funny when he told sanji it was naturally green and sanji was mind blown.
Zoro chuckled to himself as he remembers the good memories they had. He can already feel sanjis fingers on his head and how it felt good and relaxing. He smiled so wide to himself.
As Zoro was thinking to himself, he felt a hand on his shoulder and saw Luffy smiling with tears falling uncontrollably from his eyes like water falls. "Luffy, are you alright?" Zoro asked. He smiled "I'm fine. We ALL are." Luffy said looking past him.
Zoro looked confused and looked behind him to see sanji awake smiling back at him. "Hey moss head, Did ya miss me?"
