Today at Camp Campbell there were no camp activities planned for the Camp Campbell campers, and so the kids were instructed to just eat their breakfast in the mess hall and could then go on and do whatever they wanted to, as long as it wasn't mischief.
As the kids were walking out of the mess hall, Harrison skipped a bit to catch up with Neil so he could ask him a question that has bugged him during breakfast.
"Hey! Earth to Neeeil?" He tapped the taller boy on the shoulder. Neil flinched slightly at the touch as he hadn't realized the magician had been walking next to him until now, "Jesus, Harrison. What do you want?" He asked, annoyed and not sharing eye contact with the younger boy.
"Why were you sitting all alone during breakfast? After all you usually sit with Max and Nikki. But today I saw that they were talking with Nurf and Ered. So why weren't you with them?" Harrison asked, sounding concerned. "I mean, I would have joined you, but nerris was talking to me about some wier-" Neil cut him off in the middle of his sentence, slowing his walk to a stroll; "Why do you always talk so much?" Harrison looked at him, "I'm just… talkative.", He anwsered, trying his best not to sound hurt. "You didn't answer my question though..", He added, fidgeting with his hands. "What was it again?" Asked the scientist, sounding disinterested.
"Why weren't you with Max and Nikki during breakfast?" Harrison repeated his question. "They were planning some wierd scheme about how they wanted to steal something from Gwen to be able to blackmail her later, I think. I just wasn't in the mood for that stuff." Neil shrugged as he finally anwsered. "Oh, Okay then.." Harrison said.
-
"Ooh, i have an idea." The magician jumped in front of Neil, stopping the taller boy in his track. "What?" Harrison cleared his throat as he straightened himself, "Look, and be amazed!" He said as he wiggled his hands in front of his face and a beautifull bouquet of colourfull flowers appeared, seemingly out of thin air. He held it out to the scientist. "What-" Neil looked at the rainbow coloured flowers, then at the shorter boys gloved hands. "For y-"
"You obviously just took them out of your gloves." He said, trying to solve the trick, "But- there wouldn't even be enough space in them for a whole bouquet,," Harrison tried to argue but Neil grabbed his hands, causing the bouquet to fall out of them. "Neil, I told you-"
"Shut up." The scientist looked at the younger boys gloves, trying to figure out how he had fit a whole bouquet of flowers in them."Neil, stop. You know you won't find anything, it was magic." Harrison went a step back hoping Neil would let go of him, but the scientist just walked a step forward, accidentally stepping on the flowers that had fallen down. Harrison looked at the ground. "Oh no, you stepped on them!" He said, looking at Niel. "Who cares?" He anwsered, not meeting his gaze.
"I do.." The magician said, in a soft yet surprisingly serious voice, which even made Neil finally look at him, "Huh? But, why?" He asked, confused as to why Harrison would care about a bunch of useless flowers,
"I, um, wanted to… give them to you, actually." The magician muttered, he bit his tongue, "Uh, but, if-… if you don't want nor like them at all, I- I can just make them disappear. A- And I'll leave you alone, too-" He added as he was abruptly interrupted by Neil holding one of his cheeks and placing a kiss on the other, both boys were blushing."I-I'm really sorry for the flowers," Neil said as he picked them up, "That was... very nice of you, I should've let you finish. Sorry." They looked at each other, Neil let go of Harrison's cheek and looked at the flowers on the dirty grass "If you don't mind, I will still keep them. Even if they did fall down. And get stepped on.
By me." He chuckled softly.
"Thank you." He smiled at the shorter boy in front of him, who was blushing a deep shade of pink, "A- Ah, it's no- nothing." He stuttered out, scratching the back of his head.Neil turned around to walk back to his tent, but stopped to look at Harrison again, deciding to say one more thing to the flustered magician behind him before leaving him standing there; "I'll still figure out how did that."
