Mara's POV
A week after the fight, if we can even call it a fight, because a fight requires emotion, Colton and I haven't even uttered a single word to each other. We are polite at church, and exchange the odd faked smile, but, at school we keep our distance as much as we can.
'Good morning baby. How you doing today'? My mum walks downstairs on Saturday morning, and joins me with a cup of tea for herself in one hand, and another for me in the other.
I look up at her and smile 'I'm okay. Mom, what was it you all wanted to speak to me about a few days ago'? I ask, and she turns her head and faces down.
'Nothing that can't wait' she replies after a short, but awkward pause, 'plus, you've got yourself a visitor' she smiles and walks back inside.
Part of me when I first look up, hopes and wishes it would be Colton stood there, and I'm sure the visitor can tell by my facial expressions there's a slight bit of disappointment.
'Hey Logan, what are you doing here'? I ask, walking to meet him where he is stood next to his truck.
'Well, there's a good party at my friends house tonight, and I wanted to ask if you'd come' he smirks, placing his hands in his trouser pocket.
'A party? If you haven't noticed, I'm not exactly the party type. Plus, I said I'd help my parents do some yard work today' I reply.
'Is there anything I can do to persuade you'? He asks, and before I can respond, my brother walks over and places his hand on my shoulder.
Cameron immediately outstretched his hand to shake Logan's, and Logan takes it nervously, 'it's nice to meet you sir, and thank you for your service'.
'It's nice to meet you too buddy. What y'all talking about out here'? Cam asks, looking between the two of us.
'Well, Logan was invited me to a party tonight, but I told him I couldn't go. That's all' I reply, hoping he will take the hint and walk away, but as always, he doesn't.
'She'll go! What time should she be ready for'?
He replies, and in that exact moment I await the ground to open up and swallow me whole.'Ummm, the party states at 8, I wasn't planning on driving cause ya know, drink driving is bad' he looks at my brother, and I can see how hard he's trying to get his approval, 'but I can swing by and park here, then we can get a cab together'? He asks.
I go to reply, but once again, I manage to speak without even opening my mouth as Cameron replies for me 'that's great. I'm sure she will love it' he smirks sadistically at me, and I flash him a I am definitely going to kill you later stare, and that is enough to get him to walk away.
'So, that all sound okay with you'? Logan asks.
In my mind, I want to reply with 'do I really have a choice', but maybe this will be fun, so against my better judgement, I say 'yep, I'll see you then'.

'Cameron'! I scream, barging into the house.
'Oof, I was about to go and check if the animals were awake but I guess you saved me a job' he replies, walking in the room.
'What the hell was that' I snap, and walk towards him, but he just walks backwards and puts as much distance between us as possible.
