Jessica said that night time was the best time to attack. The boundary guards would be tired from a long shift. Their guards would be down. It was the best opportunity to strike.

I came up with a plan. Ben, Ethan, and I would take some of our best warriors to the Sunset Pack's pack house along with Jessica. She would let us in and lead us to Lyla.

Around 11pm, we headed out. The Sunset Pack was about an hour away. We drove in silence, all of us preparing to get our Luna back.

When we got within a mile of the boundary, we parked the cars in the woods and set out on foot. Once we were in eyesight on the boundary guards, we hid behind the trees. Jessica went ahead and distracted the guards. That allowed us to sneak up behind them and knock them out. They didn't have a chance to warn anybody of our arrival.

So far so good, I told Power. But still be ready to go full force to protect our Luna.

You got it Xavier, Power responded.

We headed to the pack house. Jessica unlocked the door and looked to see if there was anyone inside. She motioned that the coast was clear and we all headed inside.

Suddenly I caught a whiff of Lyla's scent. I began running towards the dungeon, my adrenaline kicking in. I made my way downstairs when I heard the most horrible sound. It was my mate crying.

"Please Damian, stop," she begged. "Not again."

Knowing immediately that she wasn't alone, I slowed my pace and began to creep up to her room. I peered through the door's window to see what was going on.

Lyla was strapped to a table. Her clothes were disheveled and her arm was bleeding. A man was on top of her, who I assumed was Damian. He was kissing her and began to unbuckle his pants.

All I could see was red. No way in hell we're gonna let someone do this to our mate, Power and I agreed.

I burst through the door, my full Alpha powers kicking in. I rushed over to Lyla and threw Damian off of her. Taken by surprise, Damian was left unguarded. I began pummeling his ass until he was a mess of broken bones and bruises. When I was sure he was unconscious, I ran over to Lyla.

"Xavier, is that really you?" She cried.

"Yes, it's me, little one. I'm here. Everything is going to be alright now," I comforted her.

I leaned down and kissed Lyla. Her lips were so soft, just like I remembered. I poured my love into that kiss, letting her know that it was all going to be alright.

"This is a touching reunion, but we really gotta go," Jessica said.

I unstrapped Lyla from the table, picked her up in my arms, bridal style, and carried her out of the pack house. We all ran until we reached the cars.

Putting Lyla in the passenger's seat, I began driving as fast as I could back home. I didn't let go of Lyla's hand the whole drive.
