Story 17 (39)

It had started to go quiet, everybody going back home after enjoying the day with Lilian. It was her first birthday, so most of the Vampire Diaries cast and their famil ies were with them. Along with the Somerhalders and Dobrevas. Nina, Ian, Paul and Tess were all sat in the garden, watching Lilian play with Paul's dog.

"Do you ever think it's going by too fast?" Paul asked, his head resting on the top of Tess's.
"All the time." Nina said, "but, I would like to ask Tess if she'd like to be a bridesmaid at our wedding?"
Tess looked at her, looking shocked before smiling brightly and nodding. Ian sighed, smiling as he watched Lilian hold onto the dog, standing up with him.

Ian pushed himself off his seat, sitting on the grass and putting his arms out for his daughter.
She hadn't walked yet, but she could stand up. That was until she pulled herself up on Teddie, Paul's dog looked at her dad, and took her first three steps forward into his arms.
Ian laughed in shock, turning to look at Nina with the girl in his arms.

"Did you see that?" Ian beamed, laughing as he cuddled his girl in his arms. He held her up, throwing her slowly before she landed in his arms. "What did you just do Lil? Did you walk to daddy? Yes you did!" Ian cooed.
Nina walked up to them, cuddling them both as they beamed over their daughter, extremely proud.

Paul, Tess, Ian and Nina were the four people in the world that Lilian were closest too. Paul was there from day one, so his excitement was pretty big too.
"Wanna hold her?" Ian asked, kissing Lilians cheek.
"Yep. That's not even a question to me, give me my niece.". Paul smiled. Ian laughed and placed the small girl on his lap.

"So...when are you getting married?" Paul asked, trying to play pattie cake with Lilian whilst talking.

"Next month. The 14th April." Ian replied, sticking his tongue out at the small girl.

"Really? How much of the cast is going to be there?" He asked, not wanting to run into Torrey or Pheobe.

"Almost all of them. Torrey can't make it but Pheobe's coming, she's not seated near you and she's aware of Tess. You're okay Paul, it's not gonna be awkward." Nina smiled, "But she is one of my bridesmaids..."

"What?" Paul asked, looking at Tess.

"I knew that." Tess said, squeezing his hands, "I know about Pheobe. It's me, Candice, and Pheobe. Kats the maid of honor." She said.

"Yeah. And Little Lily is the flower girl who's walking down the isle with Kat. Paul, you're the best man. Alex is the ring barer." Ian said.

Tess and Paul spent the night in the spare bedroom of Ian and Ninas house. It'd been two months since Ian was stabbed by Nikki, and having his friends around made him feel a lot better. Though that night he regretted it, him and Nina definitely didn't get any sleep.

"I'm exhausted." Nina mumbled, he head resting on Ian's chest as they were sat on the kitchen floor.
"Me too. I can go for a while but not all night " Ian laughed, kissing her cheek.

"We can. We just choose not to." Nina laughed a reply, nuzzling her head into his neck.

"Have I ever told you how much I love you?" He smirked. Nina let out a tiny moan as Ian kissed her neck.
"Once or twice." She giggled, turning so she was straddling him, sat perfectly ok his crotch. Though it was a sweet gesture instead of a hot one.
