CHAPTER THREE - THE HOSPITAL 2

ARJUN'S POV

When I got into her room and she sighted me, Saanjh stretched her hands toward me, I quickly got to her side by the bed and held her face “Am so sorry Meri jaan” I kissed her all over her face, then a tear stroke escaped her eyes,as I cleaned them away, she asked “ our babies Arjun” she pleaded for me to say they were okay, “Save your energy my love,our babies are perfectly fine okay ” and she slightly shook her head at me. My mom came to her side and picked up Saanjh's hand holding them tightly with so much love in her eyes as she looked at her “ My dear Saanjh, you've made a grandmom to two beautiful girls, May the Almighty continue to protect you” and she kissed Saanjh's forehead. After an hour beside my wife, I decided to go check up on the babies again, on my way to the babies ward I met Dr Zoya “How's Saanjh doing?, Arjun” she asked me “ Well she woke up an hour ago, but she's back asleep Doc” and she nodded “okay I'll check up on her later and the babies can now be taken to be by their mother's side” and she walks away, I quickly approached the babies ward and saw the nurse already bringing out my daughters,so I just held onto the trolley as we walked toward Saanjh's ward, as we enter the room Saanjh was already awake, immediately she sighted us,she smiled at me,mother quickly took the other baby and I took the other so Saanjh could see them both, as she held onto them she smiled and kissed them, “Arjun, they are so beautiful ”, I smiled “Yes, they are as beautiful as you my love” I said to her, “ so what should we called these bundles of joy,my love”she looked at me and then the twins and she smiled “ I'll call them ANAHITA AND AMYRA”she replied, she was still a little weak I could see it in her eyes, she was just trying to be strong at the moment......
The twins were on their beds now sleeping peacefully while I sat by Saanjh side on her bed,and she suddenly looked at me “ I'm scared Arjun” I looked at her confused, then she said again “ I thought I was never going to see you and the people I love again ” I held her hands and noticed they were really cold “Saanjh your hands are really cold ” I quickly grabbed her hands rubbing them both together for warmth, Ma quickly noticed and came to my side “ I don't feel to good Arjun” I looked at her,that's when I realized how pale she had become “ Ma get the doctor quickly” I plead-yelled,I laid her back on the bed and held her hands “Saanjh” I called to her and I realized tears were rolling down her cheeks,I held onto her face “Saanjh it's going to be okay,the doctor is on her way” she looked at me,her eyes and mine met,but I could not understand what she was trying to tell me at that moment “Arjun ,what if something happens to me?,our daughters” she turned towards our sleeping princesses and she looked back at me “And.......you my love” I kissed her on her forehead, her eyes and cheeks and I looked back at her “Nothing will happen to you, you're going to be fine,you are going to take good care of our daughters and give them all the love in this world,we both promised to be together forever,remember” she looked at me and as it became hard for her to breathe, her tears did not stop falling, even at that she still tried talking “ What's taken them so long?” I yelled “Arjun my love” she held onto my face “ I'll always love you,I want you to always know that”  she was still struggling to breathe,as I stood to see what was keeping both my mum and the doctor, Saanjh grabbed my hand so tightly,I quickly came to her side “Am going nowhere my love ,am going to be right here” she struggled and smiled at me “ Promise me , something Arjun” she said,I nodded “Yes anything my love” I assured her “No matter what happens,you must continue to be the man I fell in love with and married,my sweet Arjun” she looked at me, waiting for me to answer “ I promise,but nothing is going to happen to you my love,you are going to be perfectly fine” her eyes became so bloodshot, I began to feel afraid, I held onto her hands as she still held onto my face, she kissed my forehead “Am in so much pain,Arjun” the pain was visible on her face, at that moment I wished I could take away whatever pain she was feeling “Arjun” I looked at her again “Take care of our babies” after that her breathing became haggard and raspy,I called out to her as she was clinging to my hands so tightly but there were no answer from her. At that moment Ma,Dr Zoya,the nurse and Prerna walked in,the doctor quickly ran to Saanjh's side, “Arjun you need to step out” I looked at her and looked at my wife and she said again “Please,We need to check her” and I nodded at her, “ Nurse get the babies back to the babies ward please ” she said to one of the nurses, who quickly did what she was asked to do, I looked at my babies and I dragged Ma and Prerna out, because at that point I wasn't at the right state of mind,but I wanted to remain strong for my Saanjh......
As we walked out the curtains were drawn and the doors were closed. “Arjun, what happened” Prerna asked,“I just pray she's okay” was all I could say as I disheveled my hair “ Arjun Beta, she's going to be okay,the Almighty will protect her for your sake and for that of your babies” my mum said to me ,and I hugged her, everyone was in a worried state and confused.........
After about thirty minutes,Dr Zoya walked out of Saanjh's room and I rushed to her “ Yes, how's Saanjh ” my eyes were pleading for her to tell me,her facial expression was not encouraging,but all I wanted to do was go in and see that my Saanjh was okay “Arjun” she looked at me “Yes, Dr Zoya, Saanjh is okay right?, She's fine right” and she looked at my mum, that's when I took the opportunity and barged into Saanjh's room, “Arjun, stop” before she could stop me,I was already in the room, what I saw broke me......
Laying on the bed was My Saanjh covered from her head to her toes with a white cloth, “Arjun, Saanjh suffered from an internal bleeding,we could not notice that due to the much blood she lost and the emergency delivery we had to do, It affected the supply of blood to her body as a vein was ruptured during the accident. Am sorry we lost her” Dr Zoya said, I ran towards Saanjh and ripped the white clothes off her “ Saanjh,my love” I grabbed her face “You can't do this to me and our babies, you promised we were going to be together, no matter what,you said you were never going to leave me ” as tears rolled down my eyes “ O Bhagwan ” my mom exclaimed. “You have to come back to me, Saanjh” I looked at her face, it was so pale and she was so cold “Arjun” I looked up and it was Prerna,she stood me up “ She's gone Arjun” there were tears in her eyes as she spoke “Saanjh is in a better place,she would not what you in this state think of what she would have wanted, your daughters need you at this moment, Arjun you need to be strong for them,your mom and for Saanjh okay” she hugged me, as I stared at the lifeless body of the woman I once loved......

I feel so affected by this chapter Arjun lost his wife at one of his happiest moments of life.........
