Three years have passed since Bailey was born. Grace had kept saying she was never a kid person, but Hannah thought Grace was one of the best mothers ever.
As she unlocks the door getting home for work, she can hear giggles. It makes her heart flutter a little actually. Because it's her wife and daughter giggling from inside the bathroom. Hannah walks in, and finds Grace a bubbly mess, helping Bailey get a bath.
Baily is giggling loudly as she presses bubbles to Grace's face, Grace scrunching up her face and making sneezing noises.
"Mama!" Bailey exclaims as Hannah peeks in.
"Hey there jellybean." Hannah laughs as she looks over at Grace, who's wiping bubbles from her nose. "What are you Mommy doing?"
"Taking a bath." Bailey shrugs her shoulders.
"Having fun?" Hannah crouches next to Grace.
"I gave Mommy a beard!" Bailey points at Grace.
Grace actually sneezes, which makes Bailey laugh pretty loudly as she splashes around a little. Grace giggles standing up "Alright, it's time to get out now."
"Awe..." Bailey frowns as she looks up at Grace.
"No buts, come on." Grace shakes her head.
"If you don't, you're going to turn into a prune." Hannah says in a warning voice.
"A prune?" Bailey scrunches her face up a little.
"They're like raisins." Hannah shrugs.
"Oh." Bailey responds, standing up and Grace wraps a towel around her.
"Do you remember where I put your clothes?" Grace asks.
"My bed." Bailey responds and Grace nods her head as the little girl pitter patters out of the room, Grace checking on her, seeing her go into her room.
Hannah chuckles as she stands up, draining the tub. She turns to Grace and gives her a cheek on the cheek.
"How was work?" Grace asks.
"Great. Not much happened today." Hannah shrugs, grabbing Grace and pressing her lips to Grace's. "Just waiting to get home to my beautiful wife."
"Oh, really?" Grace giggles, grabbing one more kiss from Hannah before Bailey runs out of her room, running over and wrapping her arms around Hannah's legs.
Grace's hair is purple now, and it goes a little under her shoulders, a piercing in her nose, a lip ring, and a belly button piercing that she got not to long after Bailey was born. She has a half sleeve on each arm, and Bailey's name written on her wrist, Hannah got a tattoo to match that one on her own wrist as well.
They live a happy life, there's a few people that tell them they can't raise a good kid, but Bailey is the sweetest kid anyone could have. Even though she's young, she's pretty smart, but that just might be all her time spent with Hannah.
Grace doesn't mind though, she loves her a little girl. It may have taken about 27 straight hours to get her out, but she was still her little girl. Their little girl at that.
"How about, we sit on the couch and watch cartoons while Mommy makes dinner, that sound good huh?" Hannah asks, looking over at Bailey who just nods her head and wraps her arms around Hannah's neck, hugging her tight.
Grace kisses both of them on the forehead before they both walk off into the living room. Hannah had taught Grace how to cook, it was a little funny thinking about it. She remembers the days they would spend in the kitchen, Hannah teaching Grace how to not chop her fingers off while cooking food, standing behind her and guiding her hand.
It was weird that those memories where more than five years old, Grace doesn't even know how she remembers them. But she remembers the steamy make out sessions, she remembers how Hannah used to try and scold her for cooking something wrong.
She remembers her first tattoo, it was a small feather on her ankle. Grace had learned that a tattoo on her bone, wasn't good, or the fact she got a feather on her ankle. Something she promised she would never tell anyone unless she for sure had to.
She cooks chicken with a side of baby carrots, setting stuff on the kitchen table. Hannah smiles at the wafting smell, because it makes her remember everything as well, makes her float back into far to many memories she had with Grace. Hannah's favorites where the nights they would sit outside under a summer's night sky and talk.
"Grace, do you want kids?" Hannah looked over at Grace, who's eyes were fixed on the full moon that was happening.
"I've wondered what it would be like, I admit that." Grace shrugged her shoulders, not really knowing what to say at that moment, "But, I don't know how good of a mom I would be, what about you?"
"I would love to be a mom." Hannah mumbled, looking into the star.
"Why?" Grace stated out of the blue really.
"Because. I didn't get raised I should. It would be...like a second chance to me you know?" Hannah shook her head as she looked over at Grace, "To be able to treat them the way I should have been treated. I would never make them go through what I went through."
"Would you have them with me?" Grace would slap herself about that question now, but she still asked it.
"Grace, if you don't want them, I am not going to force you, I promise you that okay?" Hannah and Grace finally made eye contact.
"But what I want to? Me and you? And a little girl or boy?" Grace asked.
"Grace, I would honored. I will tell you that right now, straight up okay?" Hannah nodded her head. "But, when?"
"Whenever we're ready, and we've decided what we want to do. Adoption, or carrying." Grace scooted over, laying her head on Hannah's chest, "We'll have to talk it out."
Hannah ran her fingers through Grace's hair a little and felt tears well in her eyes, this is something she was always going to remember. Next to the wedding day, of course.
"Dinners done you two!" Grace yells and Hannah snaps out of the day dream as Bailey is still curled to her side watching My Little Pony. She looks up at Hannah, sliding off the couch awkwardly and waddling to the table.
Hannah helps Bailey into a chair with the small plate, sitting next to her, Grace sitting across from Hannah.
"Baby carrots are Mama's favorite." Hannah laughs, eating one, making a sound of delight to make Bailey giggle as she starts eating her own food. Hannah smiles over at Grace, making Grace smile even more then she already is. This was family.
