Grace is a little snappy now, not to Bailey, but to Hannah. Hannah gets it though, Grace was a very family oriented person and hated it when people messed with her family.
Hannah stays away from asking questions at the moment. Hannah knew what Grace's mad was like, and she wasn't very nice while still being in a rampage. So the rest of the shopping trip, Hannah and Bailey just pick out clothing for themselves while Grace is nearly thinking herself to death.
Grace knew better than to snap at her child, even though right at the moment she felt terrible. She was now in a shitty mood with the two best things in her life, because some lady had to come up and ruin the fun in this day. Grace is even mad at herself for being mad, so all around it's just a spiral.
"Okay Jellybean, I think we're gonna be done." Hannah laughs, looking down at the pile of clothing.
"Hey Han?" Grace asks, and Hannah lifts her head to the question, "I think I'm gonna go and sit in the car for a little bit, is that alright?"
"Yeah, sweetie." Hannah nods, walking over and pressing her lips against Grace's cheek. Grace smile a little and starts walking off when she hears running, and little hand grabs her own.
Grace looks down and Bailey look back up at. Grace smiles at the warm brown eyes that meet her own. Bailey's grip is tight around Grace's hand and Bailey doesn't miss a step as they get out to the car. Grace buckles her in and gives her a small kiss on her forehead.
"Mommy?" Bailey speaks, "Can you sit in the back with me?"
"Sure, just until Mama gets back." Grace nods her head, closing the door and walking around the car to get in the other side, "How are you Kiddo?"
Bailey shrugs her shoulders, and cocks her head, "Why did that lady say you can't raise kids?"
Grace looks down at the ground and shakes her head, "People are mean sometimes sweetie."
"You and Mama aren't mean." Bailey looks a little confused.
"No, me and Mama try not to be mean." Grace nods her head, "But there are people out there who can be mean to other people."
"Being mean means they're not nice." Bailey nods her head, "But Mama says to be nice to everyone."
"Well, she's right." Grace nods her head, "It's a good thing to listen to, it's a good idea to listen to Mama."
"And listening to you is important as well." Bailey reaches out and grabs Grace's hand, "Because your Mommy. That's what Mama tells me as well."
"Well, like I said, your Mama is always right." Grace just smiles, Bailey was sunshine and it made Grace's day everyday.
Grace takes in a breath and looks over at Bailey, very calmly asking, "Why do you look up to Mama so much, huh?"
Bailey gives her a wide smile, "Because, she's pretty, and amazing, and really funny." she pauses for a quick second, "And we both love you..and we like holding your hand, isn't that cool Mommy?"
Grace feels tears welling in her eyes and nods her head, "I think that's the most awesome thing ever."
In that moment the front door opens, "Hey you two, what's up?"
"Nothing much, we were just talking." Grace leans over and kisses Bailey quickly, "We should stop at Walmart, I need to only grab a little bit for something for dinner."
"Alright, that sounds fine with me." Hannah nods her head, and Grace gets out of the car, sitting in the passenger seat, "What changed your mind so quickly?"
"When you see something for a four year old perspective, you worries go away a little." Grace smiles, leaning over and kissing Hannah, "Just drive, we'll talk more later, alright?"
Hannah smiles and nods her head, "Alright."
