"I'm at the edge of the world, where do I go from here? Do I disappear? Edge of the world, should I sink or swim? Or simply disappear?~Bring Me The Horizon

ERIS

Dream agreed to work with Rose in finding her brother, and he did; he was teaching her to use her gifts, gifts that were meant to destroy him, and it didn't seem to bother him. He didn't see the horrors I saw, didn't see what the Vortex would do to him if he didn't stop her, and I felt so powerless to do anything to help him. Currently, he was retrieving the wrong nightmare, Gault, from Rose's brother's dream, and I was sitting on the steps again.

My hand clutched The Corinthian's dream book as I read all of the terrors he inflicted on humanity during the century Dream was imprisoned. The victims he laid in his wake with missing eyes and the many he inspired to become like him a murderer. I tried to figure out something...anything I could do to find him before he caused any more pain, but I felt powerless. When I was connected to Dream I had a moment that I could use his powers with mine but they just brought me that horror. I looked at the book again knowing that I had to try so I stood tucking the book under my arm and walked out of Dream's castle.

Maybe a walk would help me figure out what to do, I walked the dreaming seeing the magical realm at its glory. I somehow helped Dream rebuild his world in the midst of passion. It was beautiful, it was the stuff of Dreams no pun intended and it would be destroyed again because of Rose. As I walked, I heard the sounds of squeaks at my feet, looking down, I saw it was a baby gargoyle looking up at me. He was adorable as I bent down, holding out my hand for him to move towards.

"Hi there...who are you?" I smiled, rubbing the top of his head as he cooed to my touch and moved across my skin. After that, he squeaked, flapping his baby wings to hover for a moment, then dropped down, leaving a saddened face. "Oh, it's okay...let me help you."

The red aura escaped from my fingers, and encapsulated him, levitating him into the air while he squeaked happily. Spinning my fingers, I let him feel what it was like to fly with a smile forming on my face. After a few minutes, I brought him back to the ground as he squeaked happily from what happened.

"Goldie?! Where did you go little bugger?" a voice in the distance yelled as the little gargoyle turned to the voice.

"Your name is Goldie...." I asked, watching the little creature squeak, which I took as a yes before I smiled at him again. Looking back in the direction where he was being summoned, I tapped his head again with my fingers. "You should go home now. Thank you for the smile, little one."

He squeaked as I watched him hobble back to wherever he came from making me chuckle when he stumbled a bit. This was a dream...a creature that would only survive in The Dreaming, and if the realm fell, there would be no more dreams to be seen. Dream would die, and everything here would cease to exist, I couldn't let that happen as my legs lifted, so I stood, and took the book into my hands again.

"Okay, Corinthian...you have hidden for a century, but now it's time to come back into the light," I replied, closing my eyes, I could feel my powers emerging and the red aura enveloping me and the book. Images of the victims that the Corinthian appeared before me as I felt myself walk past them. I could hear the screams of a new victim as my head whipped in the direction of there he was craving into the skull of another victim. Quietly I approached the screaming until it was a deafening silence, and the Corinthian ripped the eyeball clear from the socket as it dripped in his hands.

"Interesting...I didn't expect a visitor...especially one like you." The Corinthian exclaimed, turning slightly to get a look at the nightmare standing before me. Tightening my jaw, I walked toward him, watching him tilt his head to look at me now. "Did Morpheus send you?"
