My Cheetah Girlfriend (Book 1)

Chapter 9

(Alex's POV)

The Alarm goes off as I groan for I did not want to get up of bed but I also don't want the alarm being on. 

Dang Alarm...

I press the snooze button on the alarm and I then sit up on my bed. I rubbed my eyes and I looked over to my phone. I knew the first I gotta do is text Amber to see how she's doing. I started the texting with something sweet like, "Hey Amber " with a heart emoji next to it. 

I hope that wasn't too much of a greeting...

However, that didn't matter since Amber reply and her reply wasn't good. She send a text that was simply an ":'("

My eyes widen for a bit for I was surprised about Amber's response... I follow up her text with a response of my own "Amber, What happen?!". The only response I got from her as I wait as a text that said...

"J- Just... Come to where we went last time...".

Something bad must've happened to make Amber like this and I don't like it one bit. So I got up from my bed and put on my clothes to head over to Amber. Once I got outside, I went to the front gates and then I began my trip down to Amber. Luckily for me... I'm able to run faster than the original person, So arriving at the spot was no trouble what so ever. 

I saw Amber at the spot already and I didn't like the face she had on. I walked up to Amber and I see if I can bring that smile back on her adorable and wonderful face.

"Hey Amber I'm here, What's wrong?" I said to Amber as I watch her turn her head slowly to me before speaking. "... A former best friend..." She said. 

"What happened" I waited for her answer before she spoke once more. "She just said we're not friends no more and unfriended me" Amber said as I went silent. 

Was this the reason why she is sad? Maybe this friend meant a lot to Amber... "I'm so sorry" I went up to her and gave her a lovely yet friendly hug.

Amber hugged me back but she still had the sad expression on her face and it hurts me to see someone so pure like herself being this way. I knew I must do something to make her feel better.

"Amber... I love you" I said to her before she responded back rather quickly, "I love you too, Alex". Hearing this from Amber made me very happy, So I decided to make her feel even happier. I hugged her a little more and lean towards her and give her a little kiss on the mouth. 

Amber then starts to do the wacky animal noises me and her like to do to mess around. "Woof....I'm a penguin!",  Amber said as I simply chuckled. I then proceed to join her with our little fun game of ours. "Quack... I'm a Cat" What I just said was enough for Amber to bring a smile in her face and laughing out loud.

After a while, the laughing stopped as Amber looked at me in the eyes. "Hey Alex..." She said to me as I look at her. 

"Yes Amber?" I awaited her answer as she smiles at me. "I love you" She said as I then return the favor and responded back to her, "I love you too. 😁". This made Amber blushing and I can't get over how cute she looks, So this causes me to blush as well.

Amber then stops blushing and her sad expression returns and what she said to me... broke me...

"I love you... But..." her voice cracks as her happiness turned to sadness. "WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO BREAK UP!" Amber shouted as she begins to sob as I stand there... lost... I couldn't believe what I just heard... 

Was this a dream turned bad...? 

If it is... Someone please... Wake me up...

"Wait what?!" I said horsey as I felt my heart cracking up deep within me. "I'm soo sorry!" Amber said as she covered her face with her hands. 

"W- Was it something I did to you?!" I asked if I was the problem, If I am the reason that she had to break us up... 

"No, It isn't you!" Amber said as I tried to wake myself from this nightmare... But it was reality... this IS happening... and there's was nothing for me to stop it...

"Can we still be friends?" Amber said with tears rolling down her face. I felt all my happiness lock themselves away and It's like I couldn't connect with them. It took me a while to respond to Amber's question... but when I did... my mood and everything changed... 

Amber then cover her teared up eyes with her hands. "I'm sooo sorry! It was my mom who did this!" Amber said through her sadness as I then turned. 

"I... got something to do... later..." I started to walk away. All I could hear from Amber was a small "Bye" from her as my feet acted on their own and start heading to the opposite direction.  I turned and walked off to somewhere to process what happened... But I knew what had happened... 

I lost the girl that I kept dear to my heart... 

I tried my hardest to contain my tears but... In the end, I lost to them... 

Amber lost to hers as well as I can hear her sobbing loudly from behind as I walked away to the distance...
