~4 Months Later~
Mika and Andy are outside practicing hunting small animals, useful for practice and food. Currently, they're making their way towards a small cabin Andy's family owns. Hoping to loot it before anyone else does. Two of Andy's hunting dogs, American Foxhounds, trained by Ace to hunt. Suddenly a gunshot is heard throughout the forest.
This startled the two and gained the attention of their dogs, who looked towards the sound. The two stopped and glanced at each other, Andy gave a nod to Mika. Without needing to say anything, Mika had gotten behind Andy, who raised her gun slightly. They both ventured their way towards the sound cautiously, rolling up on a gun on the ground.
Without hesitation, Mika picked it up, silently strapping it to her backpack for safekeeping. Andy peeked through the bushes, instantly spotting Otis panicked. Seeing the child on the ground, injured, Andy decided to cautiously come out of hiding. "Otis, what happened? Is everything alright?" Andy asked worriedly, gaining the group's attention.
Seeing the new person, Shane rose his gun at Andy, threateningly. Unaware there's another person hiding in the bushes with a pair of dogs. Noticing the threat, Mika rose her gun as well, aiming it at Shane in case things go down. "Oh my god, Andy! I just shot this kid! What do I do?!" Otis exclaimed in pure panic and guilt.
Andy took the strap of her gun and tossed it over her back, and headed towards the kid. Noticing she was not a threat, Shane lowered his gun but was still cautious of her. "We should go back to your house, Otis," Andy suggested while taking out a compress, and handing it to Rick. The male hesitantly took it and placed it against his child's bleeding stomach.
"Right, right, I'll show them the way! This way, hurry!" Otis said as he rushed towards the direction of his house. Without hesitation, Rick and Shane followed after him, leaving behind Andy. Mika finally got out of hiding, confused about what to do. "Do we follow them?" Mika asked curiously as she made her way towards Andy, the dogs following after her.
"Yeah, and let's take the deer with us," Andy said while gesturing to the dead deer. With a nod, Mika bent down and gripped the deer's hind legs. "Lead the way," Mika said while gesturing her head forward. They casually walked their way towards Hershal's farm, a deer dragged in tow.
~Little Later~
Currently, Mika and Andy are outside the farmhouse, hanging up the deer carcass. Meanwhile, inside the house, it's chaotic, full of screaming and crying. Mika started to skin the deer, while Andy started to drain the blood. Thankfully, the two dogs were distracted by a piece of bone. Finally, the chaos started to calm down, leaving them in silence. "Hey, I'm going inside to check how things are going," Andy said while walking towards the house.
"Alright," Mika said, only half paying attention, too focused on the deer carcass. Andy heads towards the house, disappearing inside, leaving Mika alone. Once inside, Andy looked towards Maggie, who was sitting on a couch. "How's it going?" Andy asked, slightly concerned for the poor child while leaning against the wall.
"I'm not sure..." Maggie said while looking down at the ground. Suddenly, Rick walked out of the room, looking disheveled. With Hershel following after him, whipping off some blood from his hands. "He's stable, for now, but we'll need more supplies to give him better chances" Hershel explained to the group.
"What is it? Tell me and we'll get it" Rick said, looking very desperate. "No, you're not going anywhere, you're staying here. You're our only blood donor, without you the boy dies" Hershel said, trying to calm the male down. "I can get the items, just tell me what it is you need," Shane said instantly, standing up from his seat. Rick, having no other options, had to reluctantly agree to this plan. "I'm going with you" Otis intervened, gaining their attention.
"No, I can do this on my own" Shane said reassuringly, but Otis is a stubborn person. "No, I know how to get there, and the items you need. Do you even know half the things he's looking for?" Otis asked, earning a soft "no" from Shane. "Andy, how about you join them? You can be back up" Maggie suggested, but it sounded more like an order. "Ah, come on Maggie, seriously? I don't even know these people" Andy complained, slumping slightly to show her discomfort.
Maggie gives Andy the stink-eye and a slight begging look, showing her disapproval and disappointment. "Ugh, fine, I guess" Andy groaned, now heading back out to tell Mika the news of her absence. "Are you sure? She's just a kid" Shane muttered out in slight worry, once the door had closed behind Andy. "Trust me on this, you'll thank me later," Maggie said reassuringly, earning a sigh from Shane.
With that, Andy and Mika quickly hugged goodbye, while Shane and Otis shuffled into the truck. With a pat on one of the dog's heads, Andy then jumped into the back of the truck, forced to sit in the bed. As they head out, Maggie made her way towards the horses, intending on heading out as well.
