The Family- A TWD fanfiction

Prologue

There, sat on a decent-sized hill, is a large farm of 1,000 acres of land. The main house is painted in a lovely white, similar to Greene's farm. Unlike Hershel's small farm, this farm produces meats of Chicken, Sheep, Cow, and Pig.

Of course, they also have some horses, and some house pets as well. Now a large area comes with a large family. In the house lives a family of 6, 2 daughters,1 son, the parents, and a daughter-in-law. There is a third daughter, but she currently lives deeper into the city, away from home.

Currently, Andy and Mika, the asexual couple, are out feeding the animals. Recently Mika had moved to the farm, away from her family home. Unlike Andy, who has a large family, Mika only has her father, Teo. Occasionally she would visit him or vice versa, but not a lot due to being an hour away from them.

Due to being a business, sometimes their neighbor, Maggie, would buy some fresh chicken eggs. It was an average day, with beautiful weather with no signs of rain, which is lucky for being in the midst of fall.

Suddenly, from a distance, they can spot Dane, Andy's brother, running toward them. "Guys! Look at this, it has to be a hoax or something" Dane said while shoving the phone in front of them. Taking a closer look, they took notice of the news, slowly reading what it said.

"Dead people coming back to life? Are you sure this is the news and not some Twilight remake?" Mika asked with a raised eyebrow. "Is this one of your meme pages?" Andy asked while snatching his phone, deeply inspecting it.

"No, it's all over the news, I even heard something about it on the radio from the kitchen" Dane explained, looking just as confused as they are. "I even read something about a shelter for the city folk," Dane said with a thoughtful expression.

"Did you show Mom and Dad?" Andy asked while finally taking her eyes off of Dane's phone. "Actually, Dad's phone was getting spammed with Facebook notifications. So they went out to check it out" Dane explained while gesturing to the missing car in the driveway.

Before there could be any more questions, they heard a loud groan. In an instant, they turned their attention to the newcomer. In front of them stumbled a man, who looked like one of their neighbors that lives close by.

The issue is, his house lives a few miles out from their own, and he looked half dead. Dane pulled out the knife that he had on hand, not taking any chances. "Hey, Kim, are you alright?" Andy asked worriedly while staying cautious around the new male.

"You know this guy?" Mika asked in confusion while hiding behind the two. "It's one of our neighbors, down by the river," Andy answered in a hushed tone. Dane stepped closer to the male, only for the male to run towards the chicken coop.

Dane instantly ran after him, leaving behind shocked Andy and Mika, who took a second to react. Quickly, they followed after the two males, despite being slower than them. When they finally got there, the male had a headless chicken in his grasp.

His mouth and clothes are covered in blood, obviously having bitten off the chicken's head. Mika took a hesitant step back, unsure what to do in this situation. Suddenly, with no warning, the zombie goes to attack Dane, forcing him to defend himself.

Quickly, Andy ran towards the shed, intending to get an ax to help her brother. When she came back, she struck the male's head, instantly killing him. Having not killed someone before, Andy felt a bit faint, so she started to fall backward. Before she could hit the ground, Mika had quickly caught her.

Dane had stumbled to the ground, onto his ass, just staring at the body with wide eyes. A car driving then diverted their attention towards the house. Mable and Pierce, the parents, had made it back home, thankfully unharmed during their trip out.

Quickly, they both ran towards the barn, knowing some of their kids are outside feeding animals. That's when they stumbled upon the dead body and a dead chicken, their kids sitting there traumatized. "Well, obviously it's not a hoax," Mable said sarcastically, unfazed by the dead body.
