today is the last day of school
finally right ??

we are now freshman

the final bell rings
and when i tell you everyone runs out

i'm walking home
when i hear a kid yelling from behind me

i turn around and see a kid on the floor
and two boys about to hit him with a wood paddle

i completely forgot about the freshman

i could either try and help and get beat

i think i'll run

i turn around
" hey you " someone yells

i turn around
and then start running
" get her " someone yells

i hear running behind me
i trip over something

i fall onto the grass

for the girls they hit us on our arms
but for the boys
they hit their asses

he lifts up the paddle

i turn around
and see a boy i've never seen before

" kid get out of here this is for junior and freshman only " he says

i look at the junior and then the freshman

they run to a car
i stop and run to them

i turn around to face the back window

" hey do you wanna come to my baseball game tonight ? it's at 7:30 at the park down the street from here an- " i cut him off

mitch looks at the freshman in the front seat

and the car stops

i quickly get out of the car

i run to riffin who's sitting down on the floor
" holy shit riffin are you okay ? " i ask

" right sorry, griffin are you okay ? " i say

" fine " he says
i hold out my hands
and he grabs onto them

he pulls my hands and i fall on the grass next to him

i sit up

" hey freshman ! " someone yells from behind us

we look at eachother and then quickly get up
" just follow me " i say

i grab onto his hand
and we start to run

" your dead freshys " a junior yells from behind us
i look behind us
and see the junior is about to grab griffins shirt
i push griffin to the side
and the junior falls

but griffin does too
" shit get up ! " i yell

he gets up and we start to run again
we run all the way to my house

we get inside and lock the door
" oh my god " i say trying to catch my breath
i don't think my moms home

" let's go in my room yeah ? " i say
he nods
" yeah " he says

we walk to my room
i open my door and walk to my bed
i fall on it

" i saved your ass out there " i say slightly laughing
" actually that stupid junior got me " he says

he falls next to me
we look at eachother
" your welcome riffin " i say smiling

" it's griffin, y/n " he says
" right " i say

" can i ask you something ? " i ask
" yeah " he says
" how do you know my name " " i've never seen you before " i say

" oh we have uhm science together " " i sit behind you " he says
" why have i never noticed you ? " i ask slightly laughing

" i always try and get to science early so i can see you walk in

" i sit in the bathroom stall at lunch because i don't have anyone to sit with " he says

he sits up
" i should get home now, my moms probably waiting for me " he says

he stands up
and walks out of the room

i get up and walk after him

" griffin wait " i yell
he turns around

" i'll see you tomorrow at the roller rink " i say smiling

" and the day after that " i say

he smiles
" yeah " he says nodding

i smile
and he walks out of the front door
