Izuku's POV

As Sensei promised, Tomura and I got tickets to the Sports Festival. He used a quirk on us to alter our appearance so we wouldn't be recognized. After that, Kurogiri warped us near where the festival takes place. Tomura was wearing a hoodie and long pants, all black like normal, while I wore a green hoodie with dark blue pants. We showed our tickets, and the person taking them didn't recognize us at all, just as Sensei said.

We arrived at our seats, and we both got out notebooks to start taking notes. Present Mic then announced all the classes participating, starting from Class 1-A, to B, the General Courses, Support Courses, and the Business Courses. After everyone was gathered, Midnight announced that the student pledge would be said by Bakugo, because of course it would be him.

"That's the guy who has All Might's quirk right?" Tomura asked me.

"Yeah, that's him. I still don't understand why that blond idiot gave it to him, all it will do is fuel his already enormous ego," I complained to my friend as I watched Bakugo make his way up to the podium.

"I'll be honest, if who I was a year ago came up here I'd probably say something degrading to all of you, calling you extras or something. But someone who I knew showed me that if I kept acting that way, I'd be proving their point that I hadn't changed. Because of that, I made real connections to my classmates, who I'm proud to call my friends. I don't want any of you to hold back, since it would put all the training I had to waste. Now let's show the world that we can go Plus Ultra!" Bakugo concluded, which earned him a round of applause from everyone.

I scowled at him as he walked back to his so-called friends, infuriated with him. So all it took was me turning evil to make him change. I was so angry that he had the audacity to say that I changed him.

"Hey, calm down, you're attracting attention," Tomura whispered to me, which made me notice that people near us were staring.

I merely glared at them, which made them turn their attention back to the arena, "Sorry," I muttered.

"It's fine. I know it's hypocritical of me to tell you this, but keep your anger in check, it'd be bad if we were caught in a place filled with heroes," he whispered back to me.

I nodded, and that's when Midnight announced that the first event would be an obstacle course. Good, this will be a great chance to observe their quirks in action. I prepared my notebook, as did Tomura, and before we came, we decided to have myself record the 1-A kids, while Tomura recorded the 1-B kids. Even though our main target is in 1-A, it'd be unwise not to know the other classes' quirks.

The first event was pretty simple, avoid the obstacles and reach the end. The obstacles varied, the first one facing giant robots that were apparently a part of the hero course entrance exam, then to go over a massive pit without falling off, and the final one being a non-deadly minefield. The Todoroki kid was able to get first, with Bakugo ending up right behind him.

The next event would be a cavalry battle. Each player can make a team with 2-4 people in it, and will be assigned a point value which is dependent on the place each person came in. In first place, however, the point value was apparently worth ten million. It would be hard to actually take it away from Todoroki though, since it looks as though he has very good control over his quirk.

The cavalry battle ended with Todoroki's team getting first, followed by Bakugo's, then Shinsou's, and finally Uraraka's. The event showed us a lot more of the students' quirks and their capabilities.

"So, anyone who stands out to you?" Tomura asked me while we were getting food at the concessions since there was a break for the final event, which was one-on-one matches.

"A few actually. The Yaoyorozu girl appears to have a creation quirk, which is extremely helpful in any situation, and works well in a team oriented environment. Endeavor's kid has extreme control over his quirk as well, but we have yet to see him use his fire. That Kaminari kid has a powerful quirk that could be on par with Bakugo or Todoroki's if he trains it right, but towards the end it looked as though he was rendered imobile due to overuse. Tokoyami's Dark Shadow is yet another powerful quirk, with it being sentient, which is a rare type of quirk as is," I explained as we walked back to our seats with our food and drinks in hand.

We sat back down, and started eating, "It's kind of weird that they're serving American food in a Japanese sports festival, right? The last time I came to something like this they served stuff like bento boxes and noodles," I questioned Shigaraki, who just shrugged and continued eating his pretzel.

"So," I started as I began eating some popcorn, "do you have anyone who stands out in particular?"

My partner stopped eating for a moment, and had a look of concentration on his face, "That Monoma kid," he finally said.

"Oh? What's so special about him?" I questioned, genuinely curious since Tomura of all people has someone that peaks his interest.

"He has a copy quirk, which is also a rare quirk, and it seems as though he knew the limits of his power when provoking the people on the field, because although he appeared arrogant, he picked and chose who he targeted, that way he wouldn't provoke anyone who had a good quirk and he wouldn't have had to reveal his quirk to take the headbands. It's a shame that he wasn't able to get past the second round, would've liked to have seen what else he could do," he ended.

My eyes widened at what Tomura just said, hardly believing what he just said came from him of all people. He stared at me however, probably noticing the look I'm giving him.

"The hell are you gawking at?" he asked, confused at my look.

I shook my head, trying to shake the look off my face, "Uh, nothing," I quickly told him.

He slightly glared at me, but turned his attention back to the rest of his food.

'So the final event will be some 1v1s huh?' I grinned as I heard Present Mic announce the first fight, 'Well then, let's see if anyone here is worth recruiting.'

Hey guys, I know I haven't updated in a couple of weeks, and that's because I'm working on some new stories! Well, on the side at least. I won't be posting them until after I finish this book though, since keeping track of all those stories would be a hassle to say the least. Anyway, this is part one of two of the Sports Festival, and the next chapter will be from Bakugo's POV. Hope you guys enjoyed this one, and as always, see you guys in the next one, take care.
