Thursday 6th November 1958

Nothing came up about the case since then, the body besides the curved star on the palm lead to no other clues, the only thing that Earth is almost sure about is that the star isn't random but rather deliberately chosen by the killer, Louis was working on deciphering that piece of paper but alas no matter what was written, there were only four letters present so most probably not enough to lead them to any particular direction.

As much as Earth hated to admit it but the killer had the upper hand on them here, they either never commit a crime again or else what Earth needs to do even if macabre is to wait for the next murder to occur. The rest of the police force believes in patrols especially Off, the man is the first to try to hunt a suspect from the get-go- clues be damned, sometimes with inexperienced criminals it worked but here they were dealing with something bigger.

"Earth, do you want to perhaps go ask again around Alpha street?" Off said having downed his coffee in one go, at this point caffeine did nothing to their bodies anymore, but a cup was still comforting on cold days like this as the end of the year was approaching. "I don't think we can find anything else, that bastard knows what they are doing leaving practically nothing but games behind," Earth said, he gave Off a reassuring pat on his shoulder, out of all of them Off was the one who never seemed to tire and would not rest until everyone got what they deserved, he had a bigger sense of justice when he first started in the academy but the experience will show you that more times than not justice does not prevail next to power and money.

Off is still better than all of them but even his spirit has diminished through the years. "Besides I have an appointment soon" Earth added, he had to roll his eyes as Off raised his brow at him, the teasing remark of oh your doctor under his breath but Earth still heard it. He might have let it slip yesterday during work as Louis came in to inquire about how it went, Earth couldn't help but let slip that the doctor was strange, confusing but strangely he wanted to see him again.

It would have been all fine if it didn't escape his notice that during the entire conversation Earth had called him Mix, unaware that both Louis and Off were looking at him strangely, and even when he did explain why he called him so they were still sceptical, and he can't blame them. Because really how can you even find words to describe Mix, no matter even though Earth doesn't know where they stood right now, Mix's peculiar request aside he still accepted to meet again although they weren't meeting in Mix's office like last time today.

To say that Earth was confused when he had received a call from Janhae, Mix's secretary would be an understatement, Mix requested to meet at the city library instead today she had said, her voice was charming and always had an element of teasing to it. He didn't even have time to react before she ended the call leaving Earth in the middle of his bedroom confused.

He could still call and decline the offer or else not even show up but yet here he was in front of the library gate thinking if he should wait for Mix outside or try to find him inside.

"You actually came" Mix's voice sounded surprised as Earth turned around to see him, he was dressed more casually than the last time, wearing high wasted dark grey pants coupled with a wine-red shirt speckled with a dim yellow. His hair wasn't held up but instead, his fringe fell into his face highlighting his eyes, he looked soft, and Earth had to look away. "Did you think that I wouldn't show up?" Earth asked, they began to walk side by side opening the gate and making their way to the entrance of the library, the white building in stark contrast next to the old buildings and shops.

"I would be lying if I said it didn't cross my mind," Mix said quietly, he had a small smile on his face as he looked at Earth from under his lashes. "So why the library?" Earth asked to change the subject, Mix had pointed to a particular corner far away from the main tables and chairs, it was practically empty this early in the morning.
